  • got beaten by RPM bythe way.....

He can be quite aggressive when he's upset.

    :(

  • am getting down to this tomorrow with my bruv who is coming to town for the purpose. not really my cup of tea looking at shiney things but you should do everything at least once.

  • Well, I will be there, with all the other open minded cyclists, of all persuasions.

  • Should be worth a look.........at the CHARGE stand, and this beauty from CONDOR.

    EDIT: Photos taken from Flickr.

Bar sodomy and folk-dancing, according to George Bernard Shaw...

  • What did GBS know about either?!

  • maybe he was sodomised by a man in lederhosen ?

  • Is that jonny with the strap on?

  • So, who made it today, and what did you think?

I couldn't make it due my allegience to the 2nd generation Grenadian that is the UK's top Formula One Grand Prix racer. Oh yes, the weight of the three lions on my shirt, meant that I had to stay near a TV. Not much opposition, but 5-1 is ok.

  • I went. Saw the BMX display which was impressive. Saw a bit of the fashion show which was not. It was clear that none of the models (female or male) had even been on a bike.

The Charge stand was good but so was the BLB one, the Tokio Fixed and the Pearson. Spent some time pouring over the Garmin Edge 705s, sufficiently, I hope, to have dropped a gentle hint about Christmas.

Took the wife and daughters, who all seemed to enjoy themselves. Have promised the elder one a fixie if she gets into a decent university for next year. Thankfully she has learnt to appreciate the advantages of a fixie over a Pashley.

All in all, a good day of Bike Porn.

you are officially the hippest dad in Britain Clive

  • I also persuaded her not to go for Aerospokes.

Mind you, if I went for them, I could be the hippest hipster dad....

  • I often think this forum is like a soap or sitcom and 'Hipster Dad' would be a fine character. But which actor Clive? Who could capture the complexity and bespoke elegance that is you?

  • The chap who played Stan Ogden?

  • you are officially the hippest dad in Britain Clive

    *Grandad *

  • Bernard Youens was the actor.

  • *Grandad *

If I am within the next ten years, chummy-lover-boy, my elder daughter's "bf", dies.

  • Bernard Youens was the actor.

A great actor and a compatriot of yours.

  • If I am within the next ten years, chummy-lover-boy, my elder daughter's "bf", dies.

    oh.

    I thought she was older!

  • She's 18. He dies.

  • but she said she was 21....

  • I was speaking to the GT Rep and was amazed that they are not bringing in the Gutterball, which i though would be a no brainer, but apparently since they also distribute Charge, they are not allowed to bring it in as part of the distribution agreement! Madness

Also spoke to the Bianchi rep who said that the Concept has been discontinued, but that they may bring in the San Jose cyclocross SS with disc brakes from the US if their is enough interest - i have wanted one for a while as it has nice geometry and would make a great winter bike.

Was really impressed with the Fixie Inc belt drive bike, though the wooden components were not my cup of tea.

Also checked out the new Sturmey hub which they had under the counter, but not on display, v nice if a little heavy, and had a great chat with them about the shifting options they are looking at - apparently hitting the shops in Feb - great bunch of guys at Sturmey, happy to chat and get feed back.

Best bike for me was the BMC Time Machine track frame.

Was very disapointed to see that Condor have ditched the Aero seat tube on the Lavorro so that they can lower the RRP as it was expensive to make, has lost alot of its charm now.

Seemed like every manafcurer had some Fluro fixed gear on their stand - bit too much for me!

The new SE Lager definitely takes the crown from the Felt Curbside for the most ugly pre HHSB OTP - looked like a horrible 80's throwback of bmx and track bits.

Cinelli ZZ Rat lloked damn nice at 600 quid though.

  • This is lovely up close.

Before anyone tries it I didn't take any photos.
