Upgraded Bowery '84 - unusual picture (as requested)
Excellent mate. My Bowery mods (all done in a couple of days) will make my mine look very puny, compared to your GangstaBitch! Good job.But where are you going to attach the machine guns?

But where are you going to attach the machine guns?
Look forward to seeing your Bowery.
The machine guns are hidden in the tri-bars

i have a bowery and i find it a very nice bike to ride
i had a go of a charge plug of my mates and mine seemed to handle much better to me
maybe it was his doing ie tire choice or tire pressure etc but

Cheers all.
Yes, I do like the mods. Bringing the wheel in closer to the seat-tube makes for a more snappy and nimble feel, but the new chain makes the accelreation even more instantaneous.
The geometry is different (riding position), as not only do I now ride with my hands touching each other on the bars, but also the cycling position is now more aggressive. I will use this bike more for shorter or faster journeys, and my Capo 5 for the longer ones I think.
As for the colours, I see what edscoble is saying, as his steed is nice and classic looking, whereas as mine is a bit of a screamer. Anyway, screamers can be nice too eh? Nudge, nudge, wink, wink. Me, I like the colour contrast.
To be honest, I don't know why Langsters get such a hard time. Maybe its because many of the folk on here don't appreciate the easier route to one-gear cycledom? Still, I heavily back the concept of OTPs, and anybody that doesn't like it, can meet me out the back. :))
I've attached a photo of how my Bowery looked before it was modded.

dogs, not everybody can afford a swanky BRIGHT GREEN Geekhouse.
Not very muted is it, your bike?
:))

mine is fully custom. yours is OTP and you've changed half the stuff.

Because I am poor, and you are.................. Elton John's secret friend.

actually my bike didn't cost that much. lucky with $US ;)

You're just pretending to be humble.
Everybody knows that a Geekhouse costs 2 arms and 2 legs!
Get away, posh git.

Looking good GA. Although you're stuck with those tires for the colours to work well together.

Cheers mate. Yep, you're right Van, but I'm already stocking up on cheaper yellow tyres. Got some Scwalbe Bizzard Sports on order from All Terrain Cycles http://www.allterraincycles.co.uk/product/108865.html. In the meantime, I may buy some more Conti GP4's in a even brighter yellow. Just for dogsballs.....he'll love it.
A warning to anybody else that wants to buy from these people, phone and ask first if they have your item in stock. Mine is taking weeks and weeks. Grrr.

mine is fully custom. mine is fully custom. mine is fully custom. mine is fully custom. mine is fully custom.
Only posh people get to say that.
Me. I'm a commoner, and OTP's my game.

Could do with yellow dust caps though ;) -

To be honest, I don't know why Langsters get such a hard time.
two reason I can think of is that it´s not exactly the nicest looking bike, it look like a racing bikes that have a track dropout (as most OTP does), and of course the idioctic London branded one (other city like NYC, Boston, Seattle actually look nicer), and secondly, think of it as a Volkswagen Golf, a decent reliable good looking car, they´re great but a bit boring when everyone have them and not that special.
I know that you know you´d really like to have an OTP bike like a classy Fixie Inc. Blackjack;
I don´t think my bike is that classic, it look very HHSB due to the rims and colourful bar.

IMHO the best bike at Fixie inc has to be the Pureblood (in singlespeed mode of course).

Clever technology. This excerpt below is taken from a online cycling magazine.
If you're wondering what a company called Fixie Inc is doing making a geared bike, the answer lies in the rather clever interchangeable dropouts. Undo a few bolts and you can switch between a derailleur and fixed/singlespeed setup.
Ugly derailleured photo though.

Got a real hankering for the Pureblood frameset (not exactly cheap though).
(list warning)Could build it up using The white ind double double for on-road (38:16) off-road (35:18) goodness.
Simply build it up singlespeed with a hope pro II single/trials hub. Then you could add a derailer + up to 6 sprockets whenever you fancy using it geared (well six speed) for a while (great for poor people like me who need versitility).
If your into hub gears. I did ponder a shimano alfine (with 18T or 20T sprocket) + the white ind chainset above for a dual eight speed system for off-road/ on-road use (three tooth diff on chainset might be too much for slidding dropouts though).
At the moment though I think I will continue using the mantra - One need, one bike, one gear
(at least till the misses leaves me) -

edscoble / i think you have hit the nail why people on here dont love langsters . no it is not a track bike , certainly the 07 and 08 had much more road based geometry 06 was different apparantly , if you look on spesh website and compare with the allez range geometry is almost identical . but i bought mine because i wanted a s/s road bike and it fits that very well . lightweight and great handling out of the box . now got two one of which has had money thrown at it and weighs nothing .keeping that for time trials next year with a big gear , second is stock and is great for training and to the shops etc .ride what you like as long as its fixed or s/s !!
It is and it was bought from ebay, cheaper than £65 iirc
