  • ^^does that happen a lot??

    Every other wednesday.

  • i too don't like the roebuck anymore. It sounds lilie they don't want to give us the time of day. Nigel is bloody charming and deserves the citygent name more than i.

  • coulda just said you are 1000% correct and given me my gold star.

Could of, but I didn't. Live with it.

Nigel is the new Chuck Norris

If it's a better flat mate than James, you're on!

  • If it's a better flat mate than James, you're on!

That cut deep man, that cut deep.....i'm crying inside now.

  • htfu James.

  • I don't know if someone from the pub has been on here, but this arrived in my inbox today:

    *"hello nigel

i'm not sure if i spoke with you or one of your colleagues tuesday
morning, but thanks again for getting in touch about your cyclist group.
we really value your custom over these last few weeks and i am thrilled
that you enjoy our beers and food. i'd have to disagree on the point you
made about the food prices, however. for the shear quality, fresh produce,
made on site and to a constanly high standard, the price is actually very
reasnable especially when compared to other pubs in the area eg.gladstone,
the trinity or the royal oak to name a few. as you know the roebuck is a
small independant pub, off the main drag and just like any other business
we have to remain competitive. with the run up to christmas already begun
we really can't put any special deals in place, this could be possilbe in
the new year. so, i would hope that you can still continue to use the
roebuck for your meetings, and take advantage of our great beers,
fantastic food and the charming service we provide.

    kind regards

    michael"

So there you have it: no deals till the New Year anyway. He helpfully suggests a few other pubs we could try, though.

you were crying on the outside when I met you. Shut up or it back to the play ground for you.

  • wow! ^ i think i will grow me such a mustache, even if it'll take ages ;)

  • Reeeen I saw somebody with your helmet cycling down Kennington Road- please find them and persuade them not to wear it as it confused me.

On a different note- where are we going tomorrow?

  • band practice. After that I'll come join you.

  • *meh! such a bummer. i may pack some spraypaint to black him out on sight next time. well i have this red sticker in the center of the beam. a homage to the rising sun as i love a nice sunny riding day. look for the red bit before you shout "skiiiiiid"!

how did he looked back at you?

anyway, ja, where to meet tomorrow?
may i suggest to meet a the george pub i read so much and then go for the little crawl?

    the incredible crawl list*:

    1. george, meet up
    2. roe
    3. george
    4. horseshoe
4 and a half. offlicense on the way
    5. roe
    6. horseshoe or george
    7. then the other one ^
    8. roe

*please feel free to alter the road map for the crawl as you see fit

then again, does anyone knows one of them? worth putting one on the list?
and how a bout the studio 6 next to the oxo tower thingy for a quick stop? dunno if they have heaters, but they seem to have space, food and stuff ... but no, i have not been there before so it may be the usual bullshit from me that after close inspection doesn't work out.

  • if you peeps are to follow, maybe we check out the Rose and Crown one during the evening?

  • This is getting so messy, how about we just go to the George, and all the whinging bitches that are saying it takes too long to get served can give me their cash and i'll push/kick/barge my way to the front and get their drinks for them pronto :)

  • hmmmmmm *thinks

  • Well 24 hours to decide.

  • You're going to regret that tomorrow, James

James, I'm sorry man, I'm really sorry.

But I now have this mental image of you, in a buxom Oktoberfest barmaid's outfit (complete with blonde pigtails), karate kicking your way through the bar with a tray of perfect, unspilled beers held aloft, like a cross between Chuck Norris and Helga the big-boobied angel of beer.

And it's WRONG, my friend. So, so wrong...

  • I'd like that, though. And some bratwurst with sauerkraut too.

  • I'll buy him beers all night if he dresses like that though.

  • lets just go to the george

  • I can't be bothered. I'm a follower not a leader (don't care about respec either), so I'm willing to turn up wherever it suits the most of you guys

  • lets just go to the george

I'm up for the George too!
Think of it like us all tossing a coin...
If the service is shite, we all nod, agree and ride away forever...
If it good..... you get the point

At the end of the day it's the company that really counts.
I'm not massively fussed, just think there somewhere better than Roebuck in SE1 of this great big metropolis........ surley ? :)

  • See you at the George. We can make that our base of operations whilst others reconnoitre.
