I just texted Dan.

Just called the Roebuck, they are definitely closing at 5.

I suspect other nearby pubs will be doing exactly the same.

They're probably doing this on police advice, which would kinda suggest not wise to be in the area anyway.

Ha! My office just announced the entire building closes at 5pm, time to get changed me thinks!

Our office is all out at 5pm too. Would've been nice for a catch up to discuss the recent events, but it'll have to wait. Might try and find somewhere to buy beers on the way home.

Gah! I was gonna come down tonight, but work kicked me out the office early and I thought everything was cancelled. Nearly got hit by a convoy of 6 of those huge riot trucks (the big american looking things). They are fast and mean looking.

Fingers crossed for civilisation to return to normal next week.

SEs - we had tramp beers then went to a pub near the Roebuck, I can't remember the name now. It does Harveys. Although everyone refused to go inside for some reason so we might as well have continued having tramp beers, especially as Rosie had illegally entered a toilet negating the need for a pub one. I went home early because I was grumpy, but I think I'm just tired. Need an early night.

The rest of the world (well, London) nothing, it's (yet another) massive anti-climax.

well the thin blue line is stretched pretty damn thin these days. anything goes.

Iain - we met at the roebuck at 4 (for slackers). they shut at 5. we sat on the benches drinking tramp beers and eating Morleys magnums (win) and MMM-burgers (fail). we had a core of about 8. nelaii and dammit also visited but didn't stay. we eventually went to another pub (not DC) because the need to piss was becoming a serious issue. tricitybendix had sneaked into Kings College halls like a boss, but it was not a reliable toilet venue. the pub had Harveys brewery beers, a good range. Stonehedge knew some people there. it was good. me and rowhan went to check out some flashing blue lights and it was just 5 vans full of riot police waiting for something to do. there was no trouble at all. at the height of paranoia, dan unlocked his bike outside the roebuck so he could make a quick getaway if it turned nasty. me and rosie opted to leave our bikes locked up and wade in if the need arose!

Good laugh tonight - total spend was less than a tenner on a Morleys and 2 x tramp beers.

Rich's "triple" MMM burger cracked me up, altho i may get one next week just to say i've tried one, and to laugh at the fact that it's apparently a double.
