this is the thread if you want to resurrect it and sort something out.

  • Sounds good. I don't really want to butt in on your thread as you guys obviously know the city way better than me.

But yes - post work would work for me. Even if I don't get a bike up here I'm up for it.

I'm in your comically accented hands.

  • 2 spotted's in 10 minutes on my drive into town today! Both 9:50/10:00ish

Fixed/single speed heading into town down the Bristol Road

Then Fin track standing at a red light next to the violin shop on the corner of the Custard Factory looking serious!

Is it Gillespie? And is that Wig on the far right?

  • spottedn 4ndy in hall green about 10pm - was going to beep my horn, but thought it could just be confusing.

also, who is the geezer with the pompino and (maybe rapha) cap with pink stripe and moustache bars who i always see riding through moseley with much haste?

  • Does he ride through Moseley and on to Hall Green down Wake Green Road? I've seen him loads. Don't know who he is though...

  • yeah, that's the one. what a mystery.

  • is it red? Sounds like my illustration tutor chiu. He rides from kings heath everyday to town

  • yeah, that's the one. what a mystery.

if its a blue pompino with panniers, wears sunglasses, cap with pink strip, i see him in hall green alot too. i see alot of cyclists when i'm 'studying'.

  • @Nyquil - yeah that's me with the grey hat, my brother Alex in the middle (who also skates + rides a roadie) and wig on the far side who's my best mate.

    Who you be? Reveal yourself!!

  • im jay who used to work in stourbridge skatepark. You guys used to sit in my office

  • Hi Nyquil. Got your message but couldn't work out how to reply. Maybe because I'm in the nursery? I Bought an 09 Genesis Day One (flat bar). Nice bike. Really enjoying it given I haven't ridden a bike since my Raleigh Chopper! Got shouted at by some twat in a taxi (the passenger!) on my second trip out - don't think I was doing anything wrong. Does that happen a lot?

    Cheers.

  • hey..ill look out for you on your bike..i always get abuse off drivers but its usually me who is the first one to shout at them, i get road rage but im working on it!

  • Spotted: Everyone who was at polo tonight. I didn't want to interupt so I just chilled by the side sans bicycle - I'd been skating after work at Ideal.

  • Jay aka "Doze"?!

  • Anyone on here? Tall chap, dark hair. You said you liked my old frame, I told you I was converting atm and you said not to because my knees will hurt. I then snapped I have ridden fixed before you know! sorry - used to condescending bike chaps! but thanks to the guys in OYB workshop who lent me their tools to fix my stupid back wheel last week.

Also a Bianchi keeps racing me down the Pershore Rd/sometimes no 5 cycle route...could be same guy? And whilst I was in the pub in town tonight, a green conversion (didnt stop to look properly) was locked up next to mine when I came out and they had ripped their plastic bag in half to cover my saddle too whilst it was raining...pretty nice of whoever!

  • ^ is that supposed to be locked?

  • haha, well it was in Bournville...

  • Matte Black Roadrat. Cycling down Hurst St yesterday around 5pm? Its o.k. to exchange pleasantries you know.....

  • Maybe a safe place, I don't know that area well (went to Kraft World once a few years back). Still, I hope you mentioned the lock fail... would take a scrote about 30seconds with a spanner to have that bike minus front wheel away judging by that pic.

P.s. Doff of the cap towards the chivalrous chap who helped keep your saddle dry. A true gent.

nice to see you - bring a bike and join in next time!

  • It's Quakerville. Yep, it was pretty shit. You're assuming it was a gent though!

  • If not a gent, then I offer a peck on the cheek to the dashing dame concerned! :)

  • ...I told you I was converting atm and you said not to because my knees will hurt. I then snapped I have ridden fixed before you know! sorry - used to condescending bike chaps!

Gah! Shoulda told him riding fixed is not inherently bad for the knees. Riding too high a gear is

  • Kraft World

    hahaha

  • Jay aka "Doze"?!
