well.....super gutted i had to veer off at vauxhall, but after that crash my shoulder was just too fucked.
just got back from A&E, and i some how managed to break my collar bone AND crack my shoulder blade in two, trying to sleep last night was fucking agony, but i got the codeine now, and i'm feeling pretty sweet. No riding for 6 weeks though.
thanks to all who helped me out, hippy jaygee dandyhorse fluff and the rest.
BIG thanks to elguapo for my massage, it enabled me do a couple bridges at least.
hopefuuly the next one isn't such an epic fail on my part!
maybe see some of you at souths tomorrow.

Oi! I'm the forum fat bastard. You're treading on my turf sonny jim!*
*Bugger dude. Hope you didn't get an arse full of seatpost.
I break quite a lot of things too, but a seat clamp bolt - Salsa seat clamp too, about 3 weeks old - pretty shit. Rode stood up to London bridge and got free train back to new cross.
ALSO
Thanks to the group of guys I rode with having turned up on my own, Sebastian, James and Fred - forgotten other names, Orange bike, nice Bob Jackson and a white bmx helmet. I was on the all black FBM sword, we should go for another ride sometime. cheers

Definately agree with object rob...After seeing how much more mobile he was with his custom handmade, beautifully crafted,digi-cammed figure of eight sling....they have to be the way forward.

Nice to meet everyone last night, fuckin rad ride. Apparently we didn't take the best route back east (Up Notting Hill) saw people we set off with just finishing bagels at Brick lane! Picadilly's definately the one in future.
I led that charge to Notting Hill hoping it would be less hectic than Shaftsbury Ave, Picadilly would have been the choice fro distance!
a big thanks to Eric (Vinylpimp?) for showing me the way back to Hackney Via bagels.
No problem dude, see above, opps.
I need to trace a few people names, I was way too stoned most of the night.
- Dude who tried to do a 2 steps jump near Richmond but failed - Good vaule! :)

What's so good about Figure 8 slings?
They allow you to actually use your arm which alleviates muscle wastage. They also hold your collar bone backwards so that it heals straight (not aestheticaly), meaning that your movement is not diminished once your bone has unified.
They aren't as comfortable as slings as they exert some pressure against your collar bone but if the choice is some discomfort whilst healing, bearing in mind it's going to hurt anyway, or permanently reduced rotation I'd say it's an easy choice.

I was told it was much of a muchness sling vs. figure 8. but then my doctors were utter cocks and I'm am now deformed thanks to their help. Arm still functions fine, it just looks wrong.#
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/3554886
"Continue the use of the arm sling after receiving medical care. The doctor may choose to give you a figure-of-eight strap, which is a more robust version of an arm sling that positions the arm at a better angle if the break is particularly severe.

i think his name's keanu. dunno if he's on here. him and his dad were at the alleycat yesterday, too. they show up to trix night sometimes. mad skillz...
I have seen that kid out a few times with his Dad. i think his Dad is on the forum.
If you are then that's some nice wheels your got your son there. it makes me sad that i Didn't have much of a father, in fact i never had a lot and i may be knocking into my 30's financially stable and fully employed, but if you can find it in your heart to adopt me and put me together a set of wheels like that... well that would make this sad boy very happy.

There were two of us from up that way. Technically I live in Walthamstow but i'm in farting distance of Tottenham Hale. Depending on whether you've eaten baken beans for breakfast. I was wearing glasses but my fuzzy brain can't remember whether he was. My memory doesn't serve me well enough to remember whom he was either. Sorry. Did you eat Bagels at Brick Lane and what does you stead look like? I was riding dark Blue Colnago which should really have gears.
