Has anyone been riding these on a trick based/heavy usage bike?
and how have they stood up so far, anything to report?
-
• #303
Superprecise, what is it that you want? do you want the surface to stay black?
if that's the case get a carbon rim.. :) -

What kinda stuff? flatland stuff like keos and spinny ground tricks, or more abusive stuff like wallrides and drops etc?
-
• #305
For flatland bits I would imagine they are fine, but if you're talking about drops, stairs wallrides etc and putting a lot of stress on the wheel, then from what i've heard they are not as tough as deep v's, which would be the minimum I would go for in terms of strength for street riding tricks and stuff, my deep v's have taken a reasonable amount of abuse but are starting to die now, hence i've got something being built up right now that is pretty much indestructable.

well i use them for all the pussy tricks i attempt and they are holding up fine

rear 36h

Yeah thats what I mean, like they seem perfectly up to the job, unless you plan on really hammering the shit out of them.
-
• #309
Nothing too serious.
Just flatland tricks, bunny hops no stairs or anything. I'll leave that well alone. BTDT
Going over the handlebars is my new thing, ask seldom killer.

and what might that be james?
-

Haha, you're gonna have to wait and see, all I will say is they will be ridiculously strong, take wide tyres, and I think...I am either one of the first, or will the first person to have this exact wheelset out on the roads in the country.....depends how soon I pay for the rest of them I guess.

• #312
Shit that just made me realise, i'm gonna have to adjust/change my chain so I can get tyre/rim clearance!
-
• #313
i hope so :)

• #314
only cause im jealous

I've been on these front and back every day for a month and so far so good. Pretty hard riding too but no tricks.
Braking surface on the front is almost pristine aswell.
No regrets so far.
End report.

apparently, vittoria randonneur's are bloody hard to get on h plus sons rims..........ask ed :)
mine went REALLY easy i m even worried about. does anyone ever heard of any problems regarding it?!
-
• #320
I hasn't put Randonneur on my H+Son rear wheel, because it wasn't a H+Son.
-
• #321
built up a h+ the other day with the worst flat spot on the join i've ever seen on a rim. for £60, the quality has a lot to be desired
-
• #322
Are they always like that? I was kind of still waiting for the 28h version... :/
-
• #323
some rims have small imperfections at the join, but never that bad. tend to be stiffer at the join due to pinning and/or welding
-
• #324
i assumed you have the non-braking surface one?
-
• #325
Is BLB the only place you can pick these up? Not easy for me to take a look in there, anybody know how much I should expect to pay for one? Ta
hmm. that won't do. thanks.
