They'll look better on a lighter frame as there's too much of a contrast with that Plug.

My finger's in the air and I predict a rush on Rigida DP18 deep Vs, just as soon as they start factory polishing them like they used to.
It's the thinking mans Velocity. One is Aussie, one is... french.

http://cozybeehive.blogspot.com/2008/12/bizarre-h-plus-son-rim-failure-in-japan.htmlThe comments on that second article links to a bit of detective work on bikeforums claiming H Plus Son are made by a factory owned by Giant and are the same 42mm rims on the Giant Bowery 1984.
*tarkbike.com user tzusing (is the Son in H+Son) says:
"My company's background is def more in raw material and production techniques...(meaning i come from a background of all those factories that make bicycle parts for brand names)"
"HKfixed is indeed selling my rims. But ordering from me is direct from the Kun Shan factory in China. (1 hour west of shanghai) and not Hong Kong."
..and the main bicycle factory in Kunshan is:
http://www.madeinchina.com/207493/aboutus.shtmlGiant Bowery also has what appears to be the SL42 rim.*

I think you are always going to get things like this happening.
I broke countless sets of trucks and boards whilst skateboarding. (being chunky doesn't help) and those are ment to be fit for purpose.
Worried now though as haven't set my rear wheel up yet.

I just went through the biggest potholes ever in Dalston and I´m rather alarmed that the front wheel (H+Son) still held up remarkably well.
thought I´ll need to give it a proper check just to be safe.

Right thinking about running a top contact for the rear on my new build 28c is the smallest they do...........Anyone think this could be too big for my hplus son rim?
-
• #185
Ed, you could run that rim on the front with 18 spokes and no worries unless your jumping steps etc. Front wheels get it easy.

Has anyone seen the 28h version (looking for black, non-machined) anywhere? some american dude are selling on ebay, but I'd rather not order from outside europe..

I've got the exact same tyre on a deep V. Not sure how wide the H plus Son's are, but those tyres are amazing on the V. Zero punctures since April.

mine have taken such a beating in the recent times:
hit by police van (ran over), hit by minicab, pot holes, cobbles, pissing around attempting to learn tricks, chucking them off kerbs, etc.
I think they're pretty solid. -
• #194
vittoria rondonuer or whatever they are called are just as good me thinks, and only 12.99 to boot.
-
• #195

had mine nearly 3 months, still loads of wear left, most decent tyres have only lasted me a month, gotta be worth it.

Are top contacts a bit quicker rolling than the vittorias? I guess they don't slide as nicely, nothing slides as nicely right?
Thanks. Not too sure about that Plug with them....bet the Lo Pro looks cool though.
