What you should of done is sold your existing 1 1/8" one on ebay and used the money from that to buy a 1" one.

I LOVE my Chris King. Nicest bit of kit I've ever bought!
-
• #69
the area of contact on a king is very small and quite a shallow angle, hold the race and bottom bearing cup together in your hands and notice how easy it is to move them side to side.
this will show why they should be faced.
when fitted to the bike have a look how narrow the gap is between top cap and race, any change in angle between top and bottom cups will be seen by the change in this gap, a small offset will meant the top cap rubbing and premature bearing wear.rep'd - good advice, you have to face the tube when fitting a CK.

Go to a hardware store and buy, a length of m12 stud and some nuts to suit.... get a couple of bits of thick plywood and hey presto you have a sub £10 headset press.... or go and find somewhere with a big vice... or use a hammer!
Can't help on reaming or facing Im not a LDN'er
