If anyone is interested, I went with the Exposure Strada 600. Down to just over £100.00 so about 40% off. Can't imagine ever needing anything brighter!
After some cheap and cheerful rear light suggestions now. One USB powered and another AA or AAA powered. Must have the ability to flash forever without charging / changing batteries and be no more than £15-20. What have you had good experiences with?

What’s you rear light? The supernova dynamo one?
-
• #4780
Yeah, that's the one. I'm a bit paranoid about rear visibility given the spate of collisions /deaths from behind recently. What and how many have you got out back when racing ?

Looks cheap and cheerful! What's the staying power like?

as in how long it stays on? I've only had it for a month or so, but it's still running strong on the AA setup. the light quality is very good, nice diffuse and bright

Wonderful, thanks for this. Just ordered one! Free postage too.
Now, just need a suggestion for a long lasting USB powered light under £15.00 :)

Three.
Two use exposure blaze and then the supernova.
You need three minimum. 2 for full time use as 1 as spare. I’ll use three full time from dusk to dawn. -

I used to have that Blackburn rear light, every time you replace the batteries the structure weakens a little. Eventually it just falls apart when you ride. Not a lot of money lost when it happens, but I hate adding to the pile of electronic waste and there's the risk that you are suddenly riding without a rear light without knowing.

My cheap SMART backup light filled with water in Virginia.
What's hot to trot for mount on a seatstay? I recall there being some 10cm long rectangular lights that seemed to suit this purpose well but don't know what they are or how durable.

I've been using one of these cheap jobbies for the past 2 years - Should mount fine on to seatstays*

Oh dear. Well thanks for the heads up! I will be very delicate with it.

Are they decently waterproof?

It's going to be dry for 2 weeks with a tailwind everyday!

Not if I'm racing it's not.

My three pound Blackburn AA powered light recommended up thread came today. Bright as the sun. Can attach to the seatstay.

Looking for a new front light.
My needs are that the light is completely removable from the bike. Knog/Moon style where the bracket is integrated into the light maybe? A bit of a focused beam. I occasionally ride home through the park in the dark and the knogs and moon meteor(?) lights I have are too diffused to illuminate the road enough to see by.
Undecided about power source. I liked the Moons at first as usb charging seemed easy and meant I didn’t have to be buying batteries all the time but as batt life has diminished I’ve found myself stuck without lights a couple times as they don’t get dimmer as AA powered lights would, they just cut out.
Looked at some of the FWE lights in Evans today and they looked ok but not sure if the quality is any good?

I want a skinnier one. I have a tendency to bash things off that stick out proud of the frame.

What is the current Forum Approved™ front light for dark nights and unlit roads?
Will be used occasionally rather than daily and will be on some of the more potholed and unlit roads in Essex.
Also might get used in the woods if I ever dust off the MTB.Budget isn't exceptionally high.
You could probably borrow my Maxx-D. I won't be using it. Or my Hope Vision 1 if you want a backup that takes AAs.
