You'll be 1st against the wall for that... while I'll be allowed to toil in Welsh sweatshop stitching Howies™ clothing to be sold to middle-class Chinese at inflated prices.
The yellow man will never get me, I am a master of disguise, I will simply 'yellow up' and put a lampshade on my head and then I will be gone, like a wisp of smoke.

Clefty's Hope Vision 1 is blindfully bright, looking back I thought it was a scooter approaching until I realise it's her.
£70, I'm buying it.

Does anyone on here use VistaLite NiteSticks? I found my set (5w + 10w, 2 batts) and I'm unlikely to use them. Just wondering if it's worth bringing them back to the poo kay?
This guy is modding them to use LEDs.. tricky..

The Hope lights are gorgeous quality. I've got a Vision 2, been running it for a year and half now, and can't fault it ...apart from I wish it had the QR as on the Vision 1 above to make switching bikes easier.
It's kept me company on the DD, the national 24hr tt, an overnight to Glastonbury, a pre-dawn ride to the coast before work, and many night-time laps of Richmond Park.
Ed, if you can go for it, I would recommend a version with the rechargable battery pack. It's very convenient for the longer (or brighter) burn time over a weeks commute, at not much extra weight or bulk. Just a personal preference, although am thinking of getting a vision 1 to helmet mount for next year's nocturnal fun.

IMO it's defo not overkill. Those Hope's are about the minimum I'd want on a quickish road.
I ride with 2 lights (both about 230 lumens). One on brainfreezeflashmode™ the other on constant.

Just behind the motherboard in your laptop.

Cheltenham.
It's not any darker than London.

When the battery isn't running out, these are alot brighter than you think (front, never tried a rear):
Does me fine for commuting.

Perhaps we only have 40w streetlamps out here or something!

They are quite bright, I used to have one, but got fed up of returning them to the stop due to them being wonky.
did you find it hard to turn it on sometime?
(@ Boris).

The button is quite stiff but I wouldn't say it was a nuisance. What do you mean wonky?

Well, it's quite temperamental sometime, it work or doesn't work, it's also not very water resistance in the rain causing it to stop working after an hour riding in the rain.
it's a much much better light than the previous frog, especially how bright it is, but sadly, not as reliable as the frog.

Funny that, I've never had such a problem with mine. Although my rear Gekko stopped working when I left it outside in the rain at West's one night... but to get it working again I just had to take off the rubber casing, remove the batteries and put it on the radiator for a bit. Just needed to dry.

The Frog are almost waterproof, the Gekko slighty less so, but that because the water get into the bulb holes sometime.
I have an idea of putting grease round there to try and keep water out of it, or cover it with a condom (as humourous as it sound, it does sound like a solution).

The problem with the Frog, is no matter how waterproof it may be, it's still a shit light.

I think the Vision 1's too heavy to helmet mount. It might be slightly better if you don't use the included mount, and just o-ring/velcro it to your lid, but your neck might complain before too long.

ten four buddy, barely enough as a front light, rubbish as a rear.
I should know, my missus was looking out of her flat's windows watching me cycle away, minutes later I got a text from her that she can barely see my light after 10 metres.
that worry me, not enough to be seen, might as well ride without it.

150 lumens, 100+ hours in flashing mode, 200gr only with battery pack. I really like it.

ah-ha, my mistake; I thought the Vision 1 came with the accessories for making into a miners helmet-type light, but thats the Vision 1 Adventure.

you can't go wrong with one of these, if you want a lightweight helmet light
