Who is the ride through? Dulwich paragon?
Wondering how I could get on board, as I've never done it and feel the time is right, despite my lack of climbing legs.. -

Anyone planning on doing this FG/SS? Or is this a silly-to-not-bring-gears type of ride? I checked the profile and it's obviously doable but would it be "fun"? For example, Hell of the Ashdown is doable FGSS but it would not be much fun (for me).

it is doable. sundridge hill will fuck you up though, but that counts as the only truly unpleasant bit.
ask bruce, as he did it with the tnrc fixed a few years back (but I don't think he had fun). -

Cheers 6pt, that's helpful. I think 74gi would be a bit much, either 66 or 70gi then.

purple_mj did it fixed a few years ago (and it wasn't the first time). It's definitely do-able.
66 would be about right.

purple_mj does it fixed on his way to the shops. in the snow. with a smile on his face. I don't think he's a valid benchmark.

I'm thinking of doing it fixed, on 66. From memory last year (when I rode gearz) Sundridge hill is the one I'm not overly excited about.

meh, that's the one I meant. It doesn't go up Yorks. Sorry. This whole bike riding lark is a bit hazy to me now.

^ Are you riding it then, Tom?
-
• #791
Not this time around.

You didn't look like anything in Cornwall was phasing you?
-

40 miles isn't 60-odd with hills and a bit of pace. Haven't ridden that for a while (tandem doesn't count), don't have the time to get any riding in before it starts. Would rather not is all.

• #794
I'll drag you round. Tandem. ;)
-
• #795
That'd do it - 600 watts FTP. Bosh.

Hah. You'd fit on the front, no problem, but don't think I'd fit on the back.
Enough of a derail. I'm out, you kids have fun. -

Only saw 6pt at the start and finish...Friday came flying by going up hill, a smart bunch of Grupettos were whizzing around and Ludwig was spinning, grinding, weaving and probably swearing but it's hard to tell with that lad :-)
A good morning in the saddle, well done all, shame that Sam could not make it though.
Ludwig,
Meh.
