Would everybody be waiting with the tar and feathers if I turn up with a 12-28 on the back?
not at all - as long as you have a single 65t on the front ;) - nah, not a problem dude, get that Cannondale out there for a bit of climbing action.
as clintsmoker said, this ride is happening come rain or come shine.

Are we still on? I should be down at Waterloo 9-9.15ish. With Network Card, as mentioned previously, so 3 more can buy cheaper tickets.

knew your presence was a given martin. exactly the kind of bloke you need next to you in the trenches mate.
-
• #60
BTW, it's £5.40 for a network cheap day return. Fight it out (as in the trenches)...
I'll be doing 46x17, with waterproofs in full effect :)

Not waterproof trousers - I'm not that mental.
Tights with wind/waterproof front - got to mollycoddle my knees in the run up to the Catford doo-dah.

GUTTED. chain snapped 1 mile after setting off this morning. Enjoy the ride boys
-
• #66
missed you out there dude, hope you get that chain and new BB sorted.
epic ride. roads like rivers. bmmf, purple_mj, willo and myself put in a decent effort out there in pretty dire conditions, wind and rain.
big respect to you guys out there doing the falling leaves ride - you would have had a lot more of the same.
these rides make you stronger. in every way. cheers guys

Days like today are great - once you get over the fact that you're going to get soaked then you can relax and enjoy being out there in some of nature's finest.
Glad to hear you guys are home safe and sound. I look forward to the next one.

I've always got that mad choir soundtrack from 'the hell of the north' playing in my head on days like today - wet ride this morning!
pareeeeeee rooobaaayyyyyyy…

Top ride; makes the hot bath and cuppa all the more enjoyable when the weather is this kind to us... Many thanks Jonny for acting as the guide, and to Martin for showing that you don't have to be built like bmmf to get up those hills.
For anyone thinking of coming out in future with a 12-25 on the back - these guys don't bite.

Clintsmoker, missed you out there today bad news about the chain but at least the chain went close to home rather than in the middle of the Surrey hills, next time huh?
Willo, & BMMF good to meet you today thanks for sharing a great ride look forward to rolling with you again soon.
Cheers Jonny for leading the way much appreciated, you and BMMF are inspirational to keeping the pedals turning when that gradient gives a little kick, well done guys impressive stuff.
See you on the road maybe,
Cheers, mj. -

when I woke up this morning I was glad I'd done my riding yesterday!
-
• #74
well done lads. legends are made on days like today. good to see others checking on the progress and lending support. as for the bike....well it's going in for some repairs on wednesday and we'll see what happens next. tempted to buy another and use the viscount as back up. having only one bike is not only a pain in the ass but isn't it illegal these days?

Well done guys, sounds like a blast.
