Banker's death - three held

Three men are being questioned in connection with the murder of a banker allegedly set upon after remonstrating with a gang attacking a homeless man.

Father-of-two Frank McGarahan, 45, of Much Hadham, Hertfordshire, died in hospital after the attack in Norwich.

Police said three men, all in their 20s and from the Norwich area, have been arrested and are being held at police stations across Norfolk.

stuck in Am'dam after travel documents (read passport) has gone walkabout so this is going to be another exit right for me...

at this moment in time i am without wheels. no preesents in the post today. it might arrive tomorrow. i will be home from work at 4pm maybe 4.30pm then i will make sure it can be built (if has been delivered) and then i'll post on here no later than 6pm probably before that. i know this is all a bit 11th hour stuff and i can't apologise enough for the fiasco. i have the same feeling as you guys that this is going to be one hell of a beautiful night to go riding and probably one of the last good ones. keep 'em crossed boys and girls.

I'm still on for this, but won't be near a computer today to find out if your package arrives Tim. So I'll be at Stratford Rail at 7.45 for 8.00 set-off and if no-one shows, I'll take-up trainspotting. Phil, I've pm'd my phone no.

John, I'm defo up for a ride tonight and live down the road from Stratford, so if the weather stays fine, I'll meet you there 7.45. If no-one else shows I'm sure we could go for a spin somewhere.

What time do you expect to arrive in Much Hadham? Some (?) of the Cambridge gang might make it down to meet you there and we need to fix our departure time.

andersb, if the ride goes ahead as planned looking at Much Hadham around 2200ish i would say.

i am gonna wait and see if my man clintsmoker gets his wheels sorted and if so will get involved with this. if he can't then i will most likely give riding tonight a miss and play polo tomorrow instead. sadly, i can't commit more than one night to bike related shennanigans this weeks.

'Tis a shame jonny, I haven't ridden with you for a while. I just had a look at the route out to Cambridge, which passes through Much Hadham. Really nice route. Long stretches of quiet road if I remember correctly, and flat too. Really flat, not your kind of flat ;)

guys due to things going wrong for ol' Clintsmoker I think I should stick to tricks tonight as I'm not going to be around a pc to find out developments. If it happens have a great roll all.

it's a no go i'm afraid. just got in and the postie hasn't delivered anything remotely bike box shape or size , unless fold up technology has really moved on and there's a brompton in this wee brown envelope. as soon as it arrives i'll be in action and up for next tuesday just to get the momentum on this TNRC going again. can somebody phone dropout?

Feel for you clintsmoker nothing worse than looking forward to a new bit of kit and getting let down, at least you get the looking forward to a new bit of kit feeling again tomorrow!
