I know a couple of routes that I used to do, maybe I can meet up with andyp sometime and we can come up with a good one for some night time rolling?
For now I dont mind an extra hour once we get back to London rolling home its kinda nice doing my commute run when its virtually traffic free for 1/2 of it.
Still waiting to confirm for this Tuesday but its looking good. -

Couple of Q's, sorry if I've missed something earlier in the thread:
Is this a geared ride?
I've got those Knog lights. They help me be seen, not help me see. Sufficient?
I'm assuming this will be a brisk ride, but social. If it's anything more I'd probably be better staying away until I'm a little fitter. What's the beef?

Gears are more than welcome (lend me a couple). just been and done 12 miles in the countryside in oxfordshire and .............it's mighty fucking cold and a bit wet. if it is like this in london tonight don't even think about going out in it seriously the rain just freezes everything. saw forecast set for 0-2 degrees so if it is dry wrap up like you are making an assault on the everest summit , north face!!
bring the best lights you've got and to be honest on a night like tonight proper big powerful ones are the safest. being seen is only half of it , you will want to have the road in front of you in your beam.will phone jonny when i get to london about the weather etc

Don't trust the BBC's weather forecast but even with a pinch of salt its looking pretty ghastly

I had to leave home at 6:10 to get to Stratford for 7:30 so missed the go-no-go call, interestingly it was dry from Sidcup to New Cross then some serious road puddles and surface water all the way to Stratford you guys must of had a downpour. I made it for 7:25 gave it until 7:40 and thought it must of been cancelled. It was still dry from New Cross back to home.
Look forward to next time though.

DaMN, sorry about that martin. we've got more sleet at the moment and it's pretty ugly. we'll trade numbers for sure so we can text those who are in the club. mine is 07908967736.
the idea now is to abandon country rides until spring. we think that every tuesday will probably be us worrying about whether to call it off up until 6pm all the time and fucking up like this. instead we're thinking tuesday night rides in the capital. so heads together everyone for some decent places to stop over i.e. the 24hr bagel shop in brick lane etc -

...interestingly it was dry from Sidcup to New Cross then some serious road puddles and surface water all the way to Stratford...
Then by the time I tipped out of work there was hail, which turned to sleet.
Hope you made it back Martin, without suffering like I did. The new knee-warmers worked out well, but otherwise it went from t.a.s.c.h.e.s* to f.a.e.c.e.s.** pretty damn quick.Good Idea with the telephone no., ClintSmoke; seeing as I can't get to check the thread on the day of the ride.- find mine in the names+numbers thread.
Will work on the urban ride route idea.

oh yeah purple - how about a kent ride to give you an early night for a change?
Would be up for a ride down to Kent once the Tuesday evening club recommences. Would leave you at the turn point to head to my own Kentish home though.
I've been working on a route for one. Will test ride it myself one night in the next couple of weeks then talk to you and jonny about a suitable date.
