I shed a tear at work today
Supporting at an event where teams from a company build bikes that are given to charities. Today they were being donated to kids in care, and the recipients came along to be given their new bikes. The delight in the recipients faces was brilliant.

I opened one of my presents. It was a Dyson HANDHELD. Never before have I been so excited about a piece of cleaning equipment. It is bloody brilliant. I am now potentially stalking all the places the cat sleeps.

I have taken my bike to CycleSurgery for a gear cable replacement. It snapped on the way in, I have to be in work and then run errands like fuck and was weak. Hating myself already.
EDIT: Went in to collect it and it is shifting significantly less well than before the cable snapped "Everyyhing's too worn mate, the chain, the cassette and the rear changer all need replacing." Now I am willing to believe that the casette and chain are near the end of their lives, though they haven't slipped once yet, and the changer has less than 6000 miles on it so it seems unlikely to be done yet.
I'm about to change the groupset anyway, but GRRRRR.

Ha! No but I am actively looking for things to clean obsessively.
Found a few in Oz for under $10k... #winning
