  • Chris you got a 23t left from HH? i could do with one if you have i can swap for a 22t? i am skid patch fail at the moment. Shin

  • sorry only a 22

  • Crap... anyone wanna trade... that or a 44T for a 43T 130 bcd 1/8?

  • being a roller hockey player, i can tell you there are a number of different weights/hardnesses of balls (and colours) so dont let that be an issue for you.

having never played Polo tho, a field hockey ball might be better (a lacross ball is slightly smaller, but simular weight, dunno if thats worth a try)

Yea, the red ones are the right ones. At least by Franklins standards, their red is for the warmer weather, orange for cold and yellow for freezing. Which ones do you use for roller hockey and where do you get them?

We currently use a field hockey ball majority of the time, it's just too big and heavy IMO.

    Is this orange or yellow?

Still cant find the glow in the dark ones in the UK though...

  • Dunno, I guess it's worth checking them out though.

  • i have 2
As you never actually play I'll purchase them both off you.

+1 Chris you there tonight? be good to test them out... i can pick them up if youre not.

  • bump CC

  • light but cheap...I got a couple:

    ;287087']Me too.

Played all night with one of these. It went over really well. A little more bounce than the lil red Franklin ball. A little lighter and a little softer. Seems to spin a little more as well.

If the field hockey ball is a 0 and the Franklin a 10, I give this ball an 8.
    And it's readily available...

  • The red one doesn't seem to go where I aim it, I think it's broken...

  • The red one doesn't seem to go where I aim it, I think it's broken...

And my bike didn't stay upright all the time. Both are orange. Coincidence? I think not!

  • IMO : the ebay ball yesterday... was shit... when we swapped with the one mike threw out (assume the franklyn) it was a lot nicer and i quite liked the field hockey ball again. oh dear.

ps mike you got any ski poles left i think the carbon is dead to me

  • I think the ebay one can only be used on really smooth surfaces. At the central street court it worked really well. At brick lane, it was definitely shit.

And no more ski poles from my reserves. Still have blue piping and getting some more goodies soon-ish...

  • i stupidly gave my 2 poles/built mallet away... thinking my carbon would last forever.........

    .....

    but nothing lasts forever.

    sob....sniff sniff

  • I'm pretty sure that the preferred ball in North American is the Franklin Pro Super High Density Ball.

    http://www.sportsunlimitedinc.com/franklin-nhl-pro-super-high-density-street-roller-hockey-puck.html

I don't think its the colors that matter as much as the density. We want high density balls. It seems you can order them from the UK:

    http://www.sport-thieme.co.uk/rl/art=IC1166008/rl/R=2088842097/-1100600702//rl

It's still expensive with processing and postal charges, but less so than getting the from the states, and if we can order a bunch then that postal charges can be spread out.

Also, I am trying to get my girl to bring a dozen when she comes here in two days. But so far she has only found one in stores. I'll let you know of we get more.

  • Vidal, I am up for going in on an order. I probably want 3. In fact, all of the LBPL teams ought to get some (depending on which ball they prefer).

  • i'll have 3 also

  • But so far she has only found one in stores. I'll let you know of we get more.

    a hem....

  • I told Scrapper to bring me some, and they are no the right ones, too soft, so make sure they are Franklins

  • ellen was only able to bring one ball from the states. but we can order the right balls from that uk site. 12 balls for 51gbp = 4.25 per ball. i'll order a dozen if i can get people to pay for nine (and i'll buy 3). let me know and i'll order now.

  • I'll take a couple, Harry might want one as well.

  • Vidal, do you know any sports shops/chain stores in NYC that we could get those balls? My missus is over there this weekend, so if we point her in the right direction, i'm sure she could pick up a few.

  • Mike one ball has been hand delivered by Carlito from US today. It's on the kitchen table when you wake up in the morning
