• I had someone pull an iron bar on me a couple of weeks back. I made him eat some abus.

I felt fucking great afterwards.

Seriously? That is fucking dark.

• ...but instead you sliced his little furry body in half...

I tend to fall over obstacles so stopping was a safer option. He looked well mean too, he had his fists raised up.

• I fucking love Boysetsfire

• resurrection post.

This morning riding from sloane square to knightsbridge, van parked up, doors at the back open and taking up a bit of the road, front of the van pointed towards me, still about five/ten metres away, giving it a bit of a wide birth so I can avoid the doors, man steps round the doors, sees me and flings himself against the side of the van, screaming as if I was a bus which had just passed inches away from him. Comedy slapstick moment.
Pissed myself laughing, and so did he.
It made my day, which was already bright even brighter....

• You live in Sloane Square?

Oooooooooooo. You're posh.

• Riding along the Oxford Road in Manchester a few days ago a car pulls up beside me at about my pace and winds the window down. Load of lads in the car and I'm expecting some cyclist/tight jeans/bald head-based abuse. All I got was:
"Nice bike!"
"Yeah, cycling is cool"
And they drove off. I really didn't understand it. They seemed really sincere. I even got some thumbs up from the back. Weird.

• Great to see such an uplifting thread.

When dropping my daugher off at school in the car, saw a hassled mum trying to get her tribe across the road, including 4 year old son, on his brand new birthday bike. I waved them across the road, as junior gingerly wobbled away in front of me. Just as he got to the opposite kerb, he hops, yes, hops the bike onto the pavement, and when I belly laughed at his skill, he gave me a cheeky grin and a thumbs up!

Our Olympic track future is safe; do early learning centre do SPuD pedals for the "Action Man" single speed?

• My day was made twice.

This morning I had to go re-registrar for a National Insurance Number, because the government lost all the personal data i gave them, this took about 5 hours. I was not happy.

Get home, go to shops, make breakfast, get phone call, a magazine wants to buy to photos, awesome, I like money, this is now a good day.

Shit, spent to much time on getting photos to the magazine, now I have to rush to get to my interview on time. Ace the interview, and am now working with an up and coming national fashion magazine, my shots are already on their website, and will be in the December issue. going on a shoot for them tomorrow, and possibly Friday. This is a fucking good day.

• Just thought I'd share.
Riding into work this morning, heading alongside battersea park, avoiding he speed bumps, when a people carrier passes me, little kid in the back -think a little boy- not more than four or five, gives me a thumbs up and a big grin as they pass, which makes me smile and so I wave back at him.
Made my morning it did.

That is all...

paedo.

just giving you another chance to be all sanctimonious - i know how you love it.

• ha...

Morning!

I was riding down aldgate today and I see a group of peds make a dash for it in front of me to cross the road...

And one ped a little slower and looking the wrong way... About 1 quarter across the road, and starts to turn and look at me, to see me slowing down to pass. Before I pass I cover my eyes with my hand and say “how would you like it if I wasn’t looking?” with the biggest grin on my face.
And at almost the same moment the guy laughs and gives me the thumbs up.

still makes me laugh.

• yesterday riding in balham with clefty and jaygee, a 10-year old kid with the biggest smile came running towards us and waved.
lovely!

• I just got asked for directions by a really pretty blonde foreign girl with the biggest smile.
I love the summer :-)

• A few years ago, well actually 25 or so I lived in Boston (US not Lincs.) and needed to get about 30 miles north in a couple of hours. Either you go around the harbor and add an hour to the trip or go through the tunnel under the harbor... which on a bike was illegal. Being young and fit I went for it. As I started on the down side I got in behind a small truck with a closed cab on the back and 2 kids about 8 or 10 looking out the window at me. They never batted an eye lid, just passively watched as I drafted 5 feet from them at about 40mph on the old (well newish then) Raleigh fixie. I doubt the parents even knew I was there and when I got to the toll booth out on the other side I was so high from the effort and carbonmonoxide that I was laughing as I evaded the toll keeper.

I always wondered what those 2 were thinking and if as adults when they drive through the tunnel they think of the crazy guy twiddling through the tunnel a few feet from them?

• +1 with others for this being one of the nicest threads on the forum

i saw a stag beetle outside my house yesterday, first time i've seen one, made my day!

• Bright times made my day yesterday

• a weekend of bike related fun:
saturday- streatham to crouch hill with 'er indoors. great food at the end. then to the emirates to watch some bike polo. catching up with dangeruss. then back to streatham.
sunday- bright times. south london hills with records. that's a winner. realising half way up the hill that you only have to go half way up. that's bright times.

• Being served up a nice cuppa tea after arriving at Gotti's after riding through the day and night
You legend!... the day was made

• Bit of a bad day. Got to work to find that they have decided to restrict the bike parking policy with no prior notice. Growl growl.

But then, on her 2nd day of commmuting, me big sis comes up with this analysis of other bike users:

I've graded them - Grade 1, don't give a shit about no one on the roads, jump red lights, and leave a trail of testotorone behind for other cyclists. Grade 2 - feel challenged by testorone man, but does stop at traffic lights and pretty much obeys traffic signals, isn't going so fast so checks out chicks on bikes whilst cycling along. Grade 3 is fat bloke who has to take over cycling chick even if it kills him so grade 1s and 2s can't take the piss out of him !!!!!

That made my day.

But she obviously saw no fixed riders....just nodders!

• Little kid riding to school on his BMX bragging to his mates about his arrowspoks. The wee nipper may be young and only have trispoks on but I reckon tynan's days are numbered. There is a chosen one and hope for a future without tyrannical opression.

Made my day.

• 4 weeks trying to fix a Linux arping issue and i have cracked it.. No more do i have to come into work knowing i leave defeated.
Shame i might be laid off before the project is completed but just think of the opportunities!

Also had an added bonus of levelling this oversized bully at football with a perfectly timed MAN tackle just as he thought he was going to score. fker didn't move for 5 minutes. he raises his elbow into my neck again he wont move for a few months....
Now about getting rid of these angry dark thoughts!
