In other news, I decided after a long while of occasionally thinking it might be fun, that it was time to pick up a freecoaster. I don't believe the Ezra or Eclat will be the products that people want them to be so went for a V3 Federal. At least the issues are a known quantity which boils down to servicing the hub and replacing driver bearings.

Kerley "The Hunt" - YouTube[/ame]I can't say I'm a massive fan of his, but that video is fucking wrong! every time I think he's done with a trick/line there's something else added on. Seriously incredible

Matt Roe.
Just watched that Kerley edit.
He rides BMX like a computer game. It's seriously skillful but I'd take this Roey edit over his riding any time.
Style will always be more impressive to me than sheer volume of tricks. -

Just come back to watch those flatland videos. Awesome.
I came across this George Manos recently.
Pegless flatland seems alien to me and I'll be honest his videos don't help as they're all moody and too dark to see what he's actually doing. Below is the only video I can find where he's in focus and not completely hidden in the shadows. -

as incredibly hard as I can appreciate pegless flatland being, i just can't get into it. i think the links are too short (though long ones would be near on impossible). also it seems slightly pointless. like trying to ride trails without pedals or something. a long peg based link looks better.

I like that he's trying something new but it definitely comes across as novelty factor rather than progressive riding.

Following on from yesterday's pegless flatland, this just appeared on TCU:

It definitely reinforces the "novelty" opinion. Despite the difficulty the riding is nowhere when compared to the likes of the Kevin Nikulski videos at the top of this page. I think the key factor is that yopu really notice what is missing, as opposed to pegless street riding where it doesn't feel like anything is missing:

Here's a little carpark session I threw together. Nothing too serious, but I'm happy with how it came out.

It's a good little spot, it's warm and it's got some fun bits to play on. It used to be open all the time but they shut it at 6 now so we pretty much only get to hit it for a few hours on a Sunday. We've been lucky and the security guard is sound, always has a little chat with us when he needs to lock up.
I recognise some of those spots from Cardiff ^ Mainly the track.
