did you know that there has been a powdercoater called ESP coatings in Glasgow which is long-established. Just wondered if you were affiliated in any way?
We do have a min cost of £50 pounds but i'm sure we could offer your members a discount and do a frame and forks for £40 for 1 colour and either 1 sparkle or Clear Lacquer coat.
Most ral colours in stock.
The only thing we do not off is a sand blasting service but we do have a blasting cabinet that we could remove minor peace's from your frames free of charge

Close, Gorilla Hattara
It may be slightly too big for me but that pic was taken right after I built it, the seat is higher now.

I was also referring to the stem. Looks too long, too.

does anyone know if there is a minimum spend at armourtex? i just need my frame laquered, which if i recall is £15?
a bit of a late reply but minimum spend is £45, as you said laquers are £15.
so does this mean you can't just get 1 frame lacquered for £15?
or will they let you get 3 frames done at the same time for 45.. -

How do engravings and engraved logos come out after powder coating? Do they get filled in by the process? Are they still legible after?

I imagine it will depend on how many coats and how deep the etching is. At least it will be obscured... frame numbers usually become difficult to read.
I'd be interested to know if anyone has ever had a set of old campag cranks powdercoated and if the engraved sheild logo disappears.
-
• #612
Well if frame numbers are hard to read after then surely Campy logos must be illegible after?!
-
• #613
As I say, probably, but some powdercoaters probably lay it on a lot thicker than others. I can't see the campag shield remaining legible in any case. To the anodiser for me I expect.

got one ^ in mind already?

Uh - thread title says no?

Who is so fed up that they don't want to see pictures of other resprays anyhow? That BMW blue rattle can job from a few pages back is unfuckingbelievable!
-
• #618
actually, in here could be theplace to put anodized parts, no? side by side to see how it looks. not that there is an 'anodizing parts' thread for it and that sort of jobby isn't done all too often.
-
• #619
DO IT. What you getting done?
-
• #620
want to, but dunno where. was thinking diy but fail to locate the chemicals needed. well i research this possibility anyway, have got to get the crank set first *wink
-
• #622
don't worry mine should have no shield engraved, more like a biiig hollow axle where others have the crank arm bolt.
hey and good link there, too.
-
• #623
Amazing link. Unfortunately I don't have the space, equipment, etc to do this but still really interesting to read.

**but instead the guy showed me a sample that was more similar to **
