Big time today, woke up with a phone call from Armourtex, first thing in the morning, to pick up 2 frames... to my surprise, and despite the finishing on both frames being impeccable, they.....errr...... swapped the friggin' colors!!!! To the point that the RAL references clipped to each frame were swapped as well... If you are taking more than 1 frame/part, make sure you repeat yourself... jesus, I did! and still this fuck up happened. I'm just not that pissed off because I love both colors and really at the end of the day I can cope with this, they are very similar on the pics, but waaaayyy different in flesh(metal)... but I had to pay £132! no discount even for the (fucking!!) mistake.
Here they are:
53cm Peloton Anthracite Grey (RAL 7026) (this was supposed to be RAP's colour)

57cm RAP Ocean Blue (RAL 5020) (....Peloton's)

Anyway, apart from minor details, it turned out great.

that happened to me, tap it in with a hammer or ream out the hole with a sharp drill bit -

i live around the corner from armourtex, ended up going back there (after 5 actually), and Duncan (big ups to him!), fixed the problem, well he scrapped it out (paint)... he was actually willing to do it again. with no charge!... but I couldn't be bothered. Just a reminder, if anyone takes this sort of seatbinder fit, make sure to tell them to cover it take a spare nut or something to cover it up.

They both look the same to me.

Just got this back from Armourtex.
RAL 5012 no clear coat = £49

The frame had some really heavy rust and pitting, so some of this has come thru - nothing could really be done about it tho.

Overall really happy, v quick and helpful.I'm curious about this. I've a frame that really needs a respray so I plan to take it to Armourtex, but it's fairly badly rusted and has been overpainted with brushed blue gloss. From the brochure it sounded like the powdercoating process would burn off old paint and corrosion, and I thought the it would cover up most blemishes, but ought I strip the paint and give the frame a rub down before taking it in? Any ideas?

No, they burn off the old paint, blast it, then powdercoat. It won't cover up blemishes though - pin holes, dents, deep scratches etc will show through to some extent. If it's badly pitted, I reckon it'll show.

Thanks. I guess I'll just have to see how it goes. I'm certain it'll be a vast improvement however it turns out, pitting or not.

Hello all, figured this would probably be the best place to post this. I recently had my peugeot frame coated by armortex in a brown black. However it seems like a buildup of paint is blocking my drop outs. My new wheels wont slip in anymore and it looks like the only way they will is with abit of elbow grease, i'm somewhat reluctant to force them in.
Spoken to Armortex and they've said that it's highly unusual and have offered very kindly for me to come in and they'll take a look. However i'm not in London at the moment and wont be for awhile.
It has been suggested to take a file to the dropouts and reseal the area with a polyurethane based paint.
Any suggestions? Am I missing something fundamental?
Thanks
Jono
