I don't know what the wait is but Enigma are doing paint now in house and are taking on full frame re-spray facilities to all, not just to Enigma owners. http://www.enigmabikes.com/paintworks.html
Mentioning them because my solid colour Enigma paint on my Elite was a lovely finish and I also know the vinyl decals were cut in house so it may be possible to persuade them to do custom decals too.
Also if you look at the Enigma facebook page there's some nice work in the photo album .. excuse the lack of facebook media savvy!

Can anyone make an educated guess as to what RAL colour the brother swift frames are painted? Looking to get something similar but its a bit hard to judge from flat colour charts.

RAL 8014 / 8017 / 8028? If you want to get it exact, might be worth sending them an e-mail.
Anyone know how long a bare steel frame would last before getting surface rust?
Thinking of glass bead/sand blasting a frame and want to know how long I've got to get it sprayed. -
• #1334
It depends massively on where it's stored, in a dry house you've got a fair while but out in a shed you'll probably start seeing light surface rush within a week.

Ah thanks, into the airing cupboard it goes.

Anyone know where to get a chrome finish (paint?) from?
Is it possible in a powdercoat or does it have to be spray cans?
-
• #1338
That looks good and very flashy! How much did you pay for it?
Yeah they have done a fantastic job. They had to do a lot of work on the frame itself before the re-spray, a fair bit of filing etc. Definitely brought this frame back from the dead. It was around £350, they said it was an A1 finish which is their top end job.
I will post some better pics once it is built up.

Yes first time got it home and found the leading edge of the lugs were grinning through. They told me that they would do it again for free but because of orange being a light colour if it happens again then I would be stuck with it unless I chose a darker colour. Got home found the powder coat was cracking they then did a third time lost all new decals damaged badge and chrome ring frame hade lots of grit inside .wished I went some where else it took the fun out of it.

Anyone happens to know either a place to find Panasonic color chart/codes or can tell me what (RAL) color this is?
Seems like 1C-V4, but can't find any good examples:

I seem to get a different colour chart when I click on their pic.

how much is a matte finish from armourtex?
and Mario for comparison? -
• #1344
I think armourtex was 49.99 for a frame and fork.
Edit: For a steel frame.
-
• #1345
I paid closer to £80 for frame alone.
-
• #1346
Dom definitely paid more
-
• #1347
Maybe it was 59.99 but cost for an aluminium frame was definitely more.

Graham 'Possible Donobru' Weigh frame.
Armourtex is rather pricey if you ask for decaks then clear coat pver the top i got quoted £170 which seems alot for powder decals applying then clear
