Cheers, yeah it's a Pre Cursa. Powder coaters were Archers Powder Coating. Just outside of Portsmouth.

Has anyone taken a frame back to Armourtex and asked them to do it again?

How much are they charging for a frame these days?

I paid ~£90 for my track bike, I've been debating whether I can live with the variations in colour or if that's going to drive me slowly bonkers.

The red is deeper/deepest at the tube junctions- that's the colour i wanted.

It gets a bit pink in the centre of the tubes.

I think the sprayer didn't use enough powder, basically.

At the premium price they're charging, if you're not happy I would definitely take it back.

I would imagine that they'd want to have a look at the frame- tricky over the phone.

You can ask them if they are willing to take a look at the frame if you take it back to them, or even send them an email of some pics of the fadezzzzzzzzzzz.

what if they tell you they had to do this due to the filler in the tubes?

They did say it might be darker around the tube joints (which it is), but the issue is not that - it's that it's lighter in the centre of the tubes than the demo tube I picked the colour from.

If it was darker/redder overall then I'd have no issue.

picked this up today, RAL 6035 with pearl gloss lacquer, kind of looks a bit lighter/brighter than this in the flesh

Its an 83 Gran Sport. And yes, it was rather pricey but you can't fault the finish.

Praise for Amourtex here. Really helpful in dealing with changing order. Nothing but praise from here.
