I think it's the fact that the tape-sign is obviously home made that makes it effective. If you made it look slick and professional it would be ignored.

would you be able to rig something up so it was more reflective? or even had a power source?
like tynan did around his seat post?commercial opportunities.

took everyone advice, put on sellotapes as a trail to see how driver react.
good work ed, i'd get some paint and stencil that on there.

Ed - if you're finding it effective what about cutting the letters out of scotchlite, sewing them onto a piece of material and then pinning it to the bag?

Have you spoken to any Deaf charities to see it they have any suggestions?

I honestly don't think you can wear anything that will make a driver take better care, other than the regular lights, visibility gear. Your lifesaver is always looking over your shoulder and thinking ahead. But you know that!

How about wearing a spotted skin suit with the words "Deaf Leotard" on it?
-
• #85
That's in very poor taste Clive. +ve rep.

I thought that Scope (with a capital "S") was a mouthwash for bad breath.

@Ed - tell us how you get on . . .
Did a really shit job at spraying ¨deaf´on the back of the bag thought, needless to says it still work as well as the sellotapes one that I use for testing.
vehicle gave me a lots less grief now that they notice my bags, especially giving me space without driving too close to me.

You could get some electroluminescent wire and shape it into the words DEAF and tack or sew it over the letters - you can even make it flash pretty easily.

did it in the cheapest possible way really, I already have some White fabric spraypaint, does the jobs, it also partily why I wanted an archie's grobag beside the obvious reason, I can able to ask for a special request by having it printed on the bag.
yes i have, and i know you said that just 'deaf' means that you can use larger font, but it can only be a certain width and you dont want to stretch the letters too much, therefore i figured that
I AM
DEAF
would still fit as a full back piece or even get 'I AM' on your hoodie, and 'DEAF' on your bag like you have already done?
