• Looks ok, brakes/bars are hideous

  • fixie skidder

    £499.00
    here

  • Rocky Mountain Boroughs 2009 £499.99... any good??

  • Yes, very good. If its at Evans, see if you can wangle a few quid off, or some freebies. I saw that model in the St.Pauls branch,
and if I'd had the money, I'd have bought it myself. A really lovely bike.

  • job done... cycle to work scheme from Evans. same money as a langster steel must be a bargain. cheers GA2G

  • I bought a Rocky Mountain mtb in 1990, still got it. For that price it's definitely better value than a Specialized, Charge or the usual alternatives.

  • been looking through the thread but haven't found these yet - specialized new brand. look pretty sweet. not sure about uk distribution

    http://www.globebikes.com/zz/en/globe/GlobeBike.jsp?pid=10ROLL2

  • Since they were good enough to still sell you the bike at the sale price, I've included them in the Cycle Shops list.

I also notice they're selling the stupendously priced Kona Grand Wagon. Only £1,655.99. ;)

Thats actually ok considering the wheels and cranks are £500ish alone, whats the tubing?

My mates got a Lemond filmore, He rides it regularly (20miles + a week)and he hasn't had to replace a thing on it in 2 years.

Its in the very first post of this thread......in the list.

    Specialized Globe Roll....etc etc etc

The cockpit is fucked up, saw one in Evans and the Deda track drops and brakes look both shit and a recipe for hand pain. But not as fucked as the Grand Wagon's.

  • I'm in the process of doing a major update of the list, and in that I've found one bike I wont list, as its last year's model, and available in one size. So if someone is looking for a light, fast, customisable OTP, that is 56cm - here is one. The FELT Curbside 2009 - **£475 **

  • Urrrgh, that's ugly.

  • In the photo, yes, but its actually nicer looking than this portrayal says

  • Just needs a proper seat and the top tube pad ripped off and burnt. Imagine it would ride pretty well and be a good candidate for a light bike (remove silly brakes, wheel spanner etc,.)

  • You do not want to have spanners on your bike for thieves to use!

  • Well that's it for a couple of months. Update completed. Just so you know - it took 3 effing days! True. ;)

Anyway, there have been some major movements on prices; some going down, but lots going up.

  • There doesn't seem to be any charge bikes on the list

  • There doesn't seem to be any charge bikes on the list

The Charge bikes are on the list in first post of thread, the list above is "These are the notable changes:"

    Talk about spoon feeding.

  • Thank you kerley.

One person got very upset with me recently for being a bit sarcastic, at their failure to look through the list.
Amazing that this list is created, and people don't even check the first post.

  • Cheers GA2G.

I'm not even into OTP cuz building your own bike is better ;) ducks
But even I like this thread and am thankful for the effort you put in.

What is it with Kona at the mo, Pricing themselve out of everything, they are. The wilier is starting to look like a good buy at least. I'm starting to fancy a alu fixie, for better climbing stiffness.

  • Well spotted 606....and one of the few OTP bikes that seem worth the extra money. I like it.

  • For anyone interested, there is a special offer at Primera Sports.

    Ex-demo Langster Steel....£399.99

    Bargain.

  • Quite a few of you will know that I tend to be a person with strong opinions, well with that in mind, I'm going to post a bike here, but am refusing to list it, as I feel it does not conform the the Trade Descriptions Act.

    The Bottechia 701 Vintage 2010.

What Bottechia have done, is to take their track bike, and put brakes on it, a freewheel, and a Rolls-type saddle on it, and then call it "Vintage". This I feel is just nasty profiteering, as Bottechia have a history of beautiful steel-framed bikes that is extremely highly thought of. To call this I-wanna-get-in-on-the-fixie-act shit, "Vintage", makes me a bit sick. Its not making the list. If Bottechia were represented on this forum as a contributor, I'd neg-rep the bastard. What a bullshit thing to do?!

How is this Vintage Italian style? What a load of shit.

In the immortal words from Little Britain - I don't like it.

  • Urrgh, ugly.
