Or if anyone can recommend a good fixed gear bike for around £7/800 pounds that would be good too.
2014 Genesis Flyer incidentally fit the bill perfectly as a fixed road bike.
*disclaimer - I own one.
As for sizing, we can't tell you what size you need, as it varies hugely from person to person, best thing is to go to a reputable bicycle shop whom will help with your sizing.
It would be idea if the said shop is where you like to buy a bike from.

Thanks Ed. I have looked at that bike and it definitely fits my functional needs, just not my aestheic tastes so will keep searching.

I might get the flyer. Decided to replace my stolen Condor with something it's easy to replace on insurance next time someone angle grinds my lock off.
It's not that hideous.
-

I loved the Flyer already, you need to get a fixed cog and locking (3 32) thought.
bonus - colour look similar to LFGSS.

Reckon it'd be good for fixed audaxing?
-
• #1258
It's exactly the same as the Genesis Equilibrium which are popular for audax, the only thing they've changed is the rear drop out.

Sounds good, will go have a play later.

Bah 7 day delivery from supplier. I am far too impatient for that.
-
• #1261
Usually quite quick from Sportline (Madison's new bike dis), a couple days.
Different bike shop with a direct distributor with Madison/Sportline likely to order it in quicker.

Look decent, but it got the old Ultegra 10 speed rather than the new 11 speed one.

If you're looking for a starter bike, you can't go wrong with a 105 equipped bike.
Plus, alu over cheap carbon any day.

Flyer ordered. Ed (sorry I am being really lazy) do Evans do 10% off bikes for members of anything? BC/LCC/CTC/whatever?

Afraid I don't work there anymore, but can be applied on bicycle as well, except for items that have already been discounted.
Hmmmmm any recomendations?
(being lazy as well)
Best ask in this topic as it's much more active than this, bike like the Canyon are highly regarded and can able to make sure you're getting the right size (on that topic, not via Canyon).

parfait, cheers.

So I'm after a cheapish fixed gear with a quill stem that I can commute on and slowly build back up into a cool bike, after my proper track bike got nicked. Cunts.
Liking the look of the new Fuji Feathers, but not sure of the build quality. Anything else around the £400 mark that comes recommended?

Look for the old charge plug that'll be heavily discounted right now due to the new one being released.

Good shout. There's a three speed for £329 on wiggle, not much that I can find in the same price range for the single speed ones.
What's up with those new versions btw? Sloping top tube FTL.

Simply responding to what the market want, a shame as I felt the original geometry was very good that fit quite a wide range of people, even a 5'2 girl fit well.
Same reason to why car manufacturer is putting bigger wheels on cars, it doesn't make it handle better or faster, just look good.
I'll check at work to see if our dis still have some old Charge Plug, what size you think you need? (a TT length would be fine).
-
• #1271
Yeah I liked the original geom too - thought the straight top tube looked nicer too. I suppose it's change for the sake of it. A shame.
Cool, cheers bud. Ideally I'd be a 56 but I could do a 54 as well with some adjustments.

Just checked our distributor, sadly all Plug have been sold out, your only luck is buying them from the reseller whom brought the last few stocks.
IMHO, the 3 speed one would be a good value for money by replacing the 3 speed wheel for a fixed one and sell it on.

Thanks for checking.
Shame you can't ride the sturney archer three speed hubs AS fixed - I was kind of banking on that to be honest. Think I'll probably go with the Feather and upgrade as I go - at least it's pretty.

• #1274
I'd wait for something to pop up second had, you'll get way more bike for your money.

Been keeping an eye on the classifieds for the last few months - not seen anything that's pulling my pickle, all the fixed seem to be thrashed OTPs or pristine pistas/HHSBs, and I'm after something in the middle.
Would be a 56 so maybe to small for me?
Is it the red or black?
