  • But do you stick ball bearings in her holes?

and what about safety helmuts when riding her??

  • It's dirty it's greasy, and I stick balls in.

I don't believe in protection, it isn't in the Bible.

i find unibonding them in place gives the best results, just go easy on the chemicals to melt the glue.. can get in your eye!

  • Quick question, (I think the answer is yes) My tyres are 28c, can i use narrower tyres, ie 25. Rims are 32h if that has anything to do with it?

    Simon

  • I treat my bike like a whore.

    I cheat on it.
    I beat it up.
    I call it names.
    I cum in it's face.

Do you have to pay extra for that?

  • Simon - you will need 36h rims laced in a 2X for those

    Paragraph.

  • I hop all the time. Hop everything. I'm 13 stone and really abuse my bike to no detriment so far.

When I was trying to do 180-hops and taps on the back (stock fuji track) wheel with not too tight spokes, it started to bend and flex a bit, but nursed back with my repeated attempts at home spoke tightening until I learned to do a half decent job.

Long winded. I'm basically saying hopping is fine.

    Novel.

  • It isn't a bunnyhop if you smack the tyre against what ever it is you are trying to get over, a smart bunny wouldn't do that.

Yups. You can bunnyhop riding pretty much anything as long as by bunnyhop you don't mean bunnysmack...

  • or crack rabbit.....nasty little fuckers those crack rabbits.

  • So, there's a few opinions on here about pumps etc. but what do people do about carrying puncture repair gear (i.e. tube, levers, multitool) and a 'get-me-home' pump?

I'd like to keep the bike looking as clean and uncluttered as I can, so was considering a small seat bag and an inconspicuous pump (or even putting the pump in the seat tube as suggested somewhere).

What do others do? Any suggestions about bags or pumps?

  • Fuck pumps.

  • Topeak Mini Morph is the best compact pump.

Yes to levers (any will do), spare tube (or 2) and a multi-tool. Park tools super patches are quality arsewell, if you need to patch up.

  • Get solid tyres (which now come in bright colours). They ride like shit but at least you'll still look cool. ;p

  • I always carry a mini pump with co2 adapter for quick inflation if necessary, levers, patches, a spare tube and allen keys at least. You could just use park stick on patches, a co2 cartridge and adapter nozzle in a saddle bag if you wanted. I use this bag to keep my everyday tools together in my bag, and just alone under my saddle on shorter rides.

  • I recommend taking several litres of water and a small tin bath with you wherever you go so you can easily locate the puncture.

  • It might be worth strapping an extra bike to your back. Saves faffing aboot

  • ^^ top tip.

I used to kill a passer by and use their blood pooled in their own skull but since tricity told me this tip the blood shed has stopped.
