  • Bontrager hard cases, cos they're like well ard innit.

  • oh. I had those before and got pinch flats anyway. I think i just need to get the wheel up the curb rather than ramming it into it and then i wont have that problem!

  • don't think this was a pinch puncture, as only one hole, sounds like an excuse to buy some new tyres, does anyone make 700x28 in white?

    That kinda helps ;)

Although its gonna be 32's on the new wheels :p

  • 32 Marathon Plus all the way. They're indestructable and before you ask, yes I have been trying.

Ha! that is exactly my problem. I have given up bunnyhopping now as a result.

Co-ordination and skilz FAIL. (me, not Julio).

  • Clearly not hard enough.....unless they are genuinely indestructible, are they particularly heavy? Because i'm looking for something nice and tough.

  • you're talking about the schwalbe tyres right?

  • It isn't a bunnyhop if you smack the tyre against what ever it is you are trying to get over, a smart bunny wouldn't do that.

  • bunnysmack?

  • Smackbunny? Crackrabbit?

  • i tore the entire wall out of a swhalbe stelvio nicking a kerb, they are far too soft.
but technique beats tractor tyres always

  • its all cool if you double-up your tyres.
basically just cut the bead off some old tyres, pop em on the inside of the one's your running, whack em on, BOOM

no flats for like 5 months of silliness

  • sounds like a good plan. But I want to change from 23's to 28s so I dont have any old 28s to cut up.
Anyone got any they want to get rid of?

  • I will have in about a week juliette, i'll let you know when they're off the bike.

  • thanks!

  • No problemo :)

  • @julio - just use the 23s cut up

    link

  • Really? Might try this.

  • Another puncture tonight!! Two days in a row, this is losing it's humour.

  • What tyres are you using as they could just be puncture prone tyres?

Pinch flats are easy to avoid with enough pressure so you could just be unlucky and be getting standard punctures or have poor tyres.

As for what you can do on road wheels, I run Open Pro sport rims on my cross bike with road tyres (Randonneurs) and all that limits me is how high a drop off I want to ride or how high I can hop and jump. I tend to treat my cross bike like a BMX and the wheels/tyres are doing fine!!

  • I treat my bike like a whore.

    I cheat on it.
    I beat it up.
    I call it names.
    I cum in it's face.
