  • "North crew take Tea"

So the title of the picture says... I can only see beer!!!! excellent....

  • JD - bad luck mate - hope it works out ok in the end.

Have a good rest tonight and try to put it out of your mind - I hate police stations.

  • im out of the nick. Anyone out for a pint?

    Thug!

  • Hug!

Ah, you can feel the Norths love.

Sorry to hear about that, Justin. Hope your day in court goes well!

  • Pics of Breakfast look great, very genteel!
JD unfortunately I only heard about the crash and then doubled back, Butters did you end up going to the station on sunday? Lets hope the taxi driver gets what's coming to him.

  • JD - PM me your email address. I was right behind you when it happened.

I'm pretty sure taxi number LM06 --- will eventually get what's coming to him. I have the remaining digits including the taxi licence number should anyone need them. For the purpose of good, obviously.

I have to say, breakfast was great! It should turn into a regular occurrence as the weather gets better as it was a lovely start to the day. Head up there, have breakfast with friends and then go do whatever you have planned for the day. North Drinks Breakfast Club ftw!*

*I realise already this is doomed to failure due to some of you taking this cycling thing seriously. One can but dream though...

  • Thug!

At least i rode my bike!

  • At least i rode my bike!

I searched through the hundreds of photos on Flickr & found only one of arvy riding his bike. He does appear to be searching for his driver though.

  • Norths Tweed turnout looked spiffing from what I can tell from the photos, well done all.

Justin, not quite sure what happend but hope all is well.

Just back from the Alps where I think I cracked a rib, so on the tube first day back - not so much fun. Might try the bike tomorrow, to see how it goes.

  • north people seem very accident prone.

  • Happy Birthday 'proper' Noel! Hope you have a nice day dude

Justin, I'm only jesting. Hope you're ok.

  • Oh yes - Happy Birthday Noel.

  • Like Clara I didn't see the crash but the policeman was saying the cabbie claimed to have lost control of the cab during the exchange and that's why he hit JD. I tried to suggest to him that losing control of a cab travelling in a straight line at sub 20 mph shouldn't result in a swerve large enough to run over the bike beside it, which it shouldn't unless there's something seriously wrong with the cab, but he was not being particularly receptive. In fact I got the impression that the police made up their minds the second they turned up.

They had. The arresting officer was only interested in listening to the cabbie and the other older cabbie that started calling me a cunt. Must know me very well.

  • In fact I got the impression that the police made up their minds the second they turned up.

In retrospect, the biggest mistake we made was not calling the police ourselves. As the cab driver was the person who reported an incident, that is what they wanted to know about.

Not sure if its too late now to report him for his driving. If anyone knows please let us know and maybe we can do something.

Also, can any of you remember who was taking the details of the pedestrian witnesses? If so, could you please let JD know.

  • Think it was Ben, will check

  • Think it was Ben, will check his pockets, his phone, his email, his facebook, his flickr, his 'secret' drawer, school photos.....

    Ben, hide your rabbit!

  • ^^ Not a euph. by the way

  • In fact I got the impression that the police made up their minds the second they turned up.

    This.

I have to agree also. The officer was especially chummy with the cabbie by the end, calling him "mate" and "buddy". Made me feel a bit sick if I'm honest. Hope it works out in the end though, JD.

  • or I might just ask him......
