as long as your reasons for getting a tattoo are your reasons, its all good.
Worth repeating.
Judge not.....

opinions sought
been waiting for an appointment with the guy that did me last time - been offered time with one of their apprentices - I dunno, is it me, or does her work all look a bit two dimensional and not very 'strong' - could be poor photos........

Not bad but still enough reason to push for the same guy as last time IMO.

she seems very competent, but still a tad messy (small obvious mistakes.) if your initial reaction isn't "wow i want to get tattooed by this person" or even slightly negative like your comment, then don't let them fob you off with an apprentice and wait it out.

Need a little advice here gentlefolk.
Getting my first tattoo tomorrow, a chemical molecular diagram on my left side ribs.
Problem is I have a music video shoot for my band the next morning and the director said he wants us to be in the water at the beach for some of it. Would it be ok to clingfilm the fuck out of it and tape it up for a quick bit to shoot a few takes or should I just stay out of the water altogether?
I'll stay out if needs be but obviously protecting artistic integrity of shoot yadda yadda and all of that rubbish...

i personally wouldn't risk ging in the water. the day after it's still an open wound.

You're not supposed to soak a new tattoo as you risk ink loss. I definitely wouldn't want to be going in the sea. I have a tattoo covering the left side of my ribs, it would not have been fun.
Also to play devil's advocate for a second, what's the point in a CERN graphic. Its probably an incomplete understanding of a more complex theory (wrong word but the correct one isn't coming to me), based on our current poor grasp/ scientific bias- it may even be completely redundant in 10yrs, and then may experience a return to vogue as yet more evidence supports it.
A good example can be taken from the Lamarkian concept of Evolution*, which may not be as wrong as has been suggested previously (not by Darwin incidentally but by his idiot followers), just as pure Darwinism is likely incomplete also.
*N.B. not truly a scientific theory.
