King Assurbanipal of the Neo-Assyrian empire. Although related, as the library that he founded was where the Babylonian Creation & Flood myths and the Epic of Gilgamesh were both found.

  • Jason Brunson

  • Awesome :D

  • can someone tell me the joke behind that??? hitler as indian?

  • probably just a piss take. people get swastikas and SS style tattoos just to provoke people.

that one there doesn't really tickle me though

  • We get it Nesbit, jeez

  • Unless you're Edward Norton in American History X, there is never a need for a swastika.

    I think it's rather offensive.

  • There's never a need, but quite often people who get swastikas do it not in order to be offensive, but to attempt to reclaim the symbol from the Nazis.

Personally, I agree with you - I don't think it's a good enough symbol to require reclamation by the tattooed, and I think any attempt to do so will be inherently muddied by its context - but it's almost never a straight up homage to racism.

it is offensive, that's the point. I'm not condoning it, I wouldn't want a swastika. just sayin

unless you're one of the many Hindu's who still use it for it originally intended meaning.

  • that ain't a swastica though, it's the other way round.

  • That symbol has been discussed in this thread quite a few times.
