I don't live in the UK anymore so have not witnessed this, but someone posted here recently stating that Bepanthen has changed formulation recently so is now totally off limits for tattoos and that Hustle Butter is the one to use.

I was told to use Palmers cocoa butter tub

now totally off limits for tattoos
They do a tattoo specific version though (albeit that might just be marketing), which I found in Tesco so used last time. Advice is to use it very thinly.
I also have HB & Palmers as I still moisturise the others daily, also have Lush Elbow Grease but that's not for healing.
Pretty sure any of the 3 would be fine, I'll report back how it all works out as it heals.

Said it before and I’ll say it again, just use whatever works best for your skin. Cocoa butter works for me and my skin is a car crash at the best of times.
In other news my partner is all booked in for end of nov for her bootyhole tat as mentioned upthread.
I shudder to think what the pain/healing process is like but Malice has assured her it’s nowhere near as awful as you’d expect 😅 -

My two recent chest tattoos dry healed perfectly. The temptation to pick is irresistible though.

Air dry + Palmer's, been my go to for the last few years.
Booked in for Saturday, getting a little flamingo from a flash sheet.
Classic design, nothing too fancy, just liked it. -

Works for me too - healed my entire piece (see page 528) with just air and Palmers and had no issues at all.

Air and Palmer's here too, from the last 3 artists I've been tattooed by.

Keeping it clean must be the most challenging part surely? (Bootyhole tat I mean)

Thanks all for methods. Air dry with Hustle Butter is on-going here although I wrapped it with clingfilm for during my run session tonight & will do for Weds & Thurs sessions too. I might switch to Palmers to see how it feels but it sounds like either will work ok.
It looked a bit red but generally ok this morning, picture here.

Just don’t eat for 2 weeks afterwards I guess 😅
Luckily she’s being done by an artist who has one so will be better placed to advise than most I’m sure. -

Advice from experience is definitely vital on this one I reckon. I hope it all goes well.

So good.

Yeah, I’ve been jabbed by Malice well over a dozen times: mostly ribs, armpit and other painful spots.
She has a soft touch and is fast as fuck once she gets going.
All round good person too, she’s wanted to tattoo my partner for years, obviously the timing was finally right. -

On the healing chat, I had "second skin" instead of clingfilm.
Had this last time too but it came off almost immediately, so no proper experience.Just took it off after ~46 hours. Was a bit grim with plasma/black gunk but it was mostly on the wrap. Pretty dry, tiny bit of scabbing, whacked on the palmers, lets see what happens.

Lovely, keep meaning to pop in there, heard nothing but good things about them, think I’ve got mates in common.

Their new shop is amazing. Really really awesome. Will and I go way back but I'd never made it over to the new place as I'm rarely in the UK any more. Picked these 80s bits off the wall. He's got so much beautiful old flash. Can't rate the place enough.
This looks amazing.
