Have met Mei when she was at Dharma(I think she still is from time to time). Seemed like an awesome person.

To carry on from my Otters tattoo, another gross couply tattoo. Got a pair of lucky cats. Hard to tell from these photos but they’re 3 inches tall. It’s my 3rd visit to Dave at Black Crown in Leeds and he’s nailed it every time. Took my brief and delivered better than I could even imagine.

Finally met Peggy Brown yesterday, such a genuinely lovely person and my first freehand tattoo. Nice relaxing afternoon at Femme Fatale.

Everyone at ff is great, fast becoming my fave studio. Was fun having a freehand piece this time, Peggy nailed the drawing first time and just went for it.
At the start of the year I wasn’t planning on doing my lower arms but really glad I’ve gone for it.

I've not heard of her before, following now. Some of her stuff is really nice.

I'm in Newcastle for the weekend, got a couple of little bangers from Ratfingerz in Gateshead. Very sore but very quick!

I’ve got a full day session on my ribs tomorrow. Terrified.
I’m finally going to cave and use numbing cream for the first time. Did a test patch and it worked and didn’t give me a reaction so should be good to go.
It’ll still be pretty grim I’m sure.

My niece decided her first one will be on her ribs. The tattooist did a cm line and she tapped out so she now just has a random line.

Ha, still, it’s a good story and they can always finish it off once they htfu.

I’ve had 2x 2hr sessions on my other side ribs. It’s challenging but doable. Hopefully magic cream will take the edge off doing a long sitting.
Will try to avoid getting too fired up on coffee.

Anyone tried cbd oil before a tat? Just a thought.

I've got a friend who uses one particular brand of numbing cream that they absolutely swear by. I can't remember what it is but apparently they fell asleep getting their back done which seems like a glowing endorsement! I don't buy into any macho "don't get tattooed if you can't take the pain" or "pain is good" type bollocks so would definitely consider it for anything spicy!

Tktx is the stuff my partner uses. She’s had lots of sessions on her ribs this year. She only books in 2hr at a time as even with cream it just sucks.
Closer to your organs the more in hurts I guess.

How were your ribs in the end?

Hadn’t heard of the FF studio, now following all the artists who all seem incredibly talented. Think I may go there for something in the near future, thanks for posting.

My ribs were fine, was a fairly relaxed 5hrs! 2 tubes of tktx and a bit of cbd in my coffee and it was smiles and conversation all the way. A couple of spots on my hipbone were a bit spicy where I didn’t apply cream but yeah all good.
White Smoke is a great little shop and was worth the train down. I was hoping to see @shantitattoo while she was guesting in London last month but even better to see her in her home studio.
