Police spotting (junction watch)

  • There was a Po Po on a bike on St John Street opposite City University watching cyclists at the lights at 8.50am.

By this point I had suffered 10 consecutive red lights and had so much rage I wanted to take him on.

(I cycled quietly in line mouthbreathing)

  • Yeah there is hardly any real crime to deal with in that area so they may as well concentrate on cyclists

  • they have nothing better to do :)
meanwhile gangs are having fun in hackney hahaha

    Cyclists do though apparently.

  • waits for hippy to merge this thread and get into trouble with Velocio

    He wouldn't dare!

Besides. This single thread becomes the home of all future "popo on ken high st" threads.

  • hangs head and considers throwing £30 fine in the bin Now that really would be foolish
Nice to see you this morning though Velocio, next time lets make it sans police.
Be careful though though peeps they are not wearing high vis as usual - sneaky piggies

ouch. no "climb into a lorry and we will cancel your fine" option?

  • No "scrape your DNA off the street" line either. She was cheated. £30 doesn't buy you much nowadays, no sitting in trucks and no fake CSI moments either. Bloody rip-off.

  • about 30 police at trafalgar square this morning. They had totally taken over the roundabout and were letting people through in dribs and drabs, shouting at everyone and giving such unclear signals that a few people thought they had been instructed to go, started moving and were promptly threatened with fines etc.

Eventually I got off the bike, explained to the other cyclists the ruling re being a foot passentger and then walked over the line, asking the policeman "do you know about crank vs brookes? i assume its ok for me to do this."

He scowled but did not attempt to stop me.

    Do they do season tickets?

  • Pay £200 up front and you can RLJ as much as you want? I'm a fan

  • They are or were at Angel at the Pentonville/St John's Street junction. Bloody lucky I got caught behind a bus or it would've probably been another fine.

  • I wish they'd fine riders that feel the need to push in front and then fumble in their clips and straps and wobble away when the light changes and force me to trail them until it's clear to pass - which is hard surrounded by 20 bikes rubber-necking at the cops standing on the corner. Oh well.

Oh and props to the dude on the trials/bmx bike spinning away - best bike I saw all morning.

  • He scowled but did not attempt to stop me.

    Stop bullying the police.. :)

  • there were loads of pedalkops out this morning. i like it. prefer it to them hanging about junctions like sneakey sneakers. i like that they're getting involved in the madness that is the commutoscrum. i just wish they had flashing lights on their helmets and had to make the "woowoowoo" noise themselves. most of them are fat and slow which makes is so much more tempting to knock their helmets off, bertie wooster style, and leg it. one day, one day...

I didn't bother with my usual merge post this morning, was a bit busy.

  • Do they do season tickets?

    Have a season Rep.

    ^this

  • Car drivers sing the exact same song.

  • On Borough High St this morning, where endless roadworks have made it one-way northbound.

Popo-nodder on bike stopped, in way of bus that was tying to pull over a bit to let Ambulance, sirens wailing, pass. Totally fucking in the way, uselessly gesturing to bus to get out of way, but being in the fucking way.

    Useless cunt.

  • Skully, stop reading DJ's posts. It is damaging your style.

  • reported for bullying

  • and you for stalking :P

  • shall we go off banned, hand in hand?

  • Car drivers sing the exact same song.

When I drive I like to sing "Beat on the brat with a baseball bat" by the Ramones. I think of James as I do so.

Are you telling me that this is what all other drivers do? No wonder he has issues with motorists.
