  • Oi fatty
suck my dick, eat my shit!

that is some seriously kinky shit. I want in.

  • I got another parkign ticket this morning.

Running total for the last 12 months is £1150.

    WAC

Serious point and nothing personal but: cars parked where they shouldn't be are often, in my admittedly limited experience of cycling in London, as great a hazard as cars being driven badly, idiot pedestrians, pot holes, bendy buses etc etc. Is it a work thing that makes you park where you shouldn't? As I say, a serious question and nothing personal, but I have very limited sympathy in most cases.

  • I rather like Tarquin. He says it as he sees it.

Mind you, I also like Dancing James and Mashton.

Ooooh, now I feel warm and fuzzy like that cat up there. Come back Tarquin, I don't want to incinerate you anymore. Shall we do some knitting?

  • Going back to the RLJ trap (amusing though the rest of this thread is) City of London police have been at the junction of Beech St, the tunnel under the Barbican, and Goswell Rd. Last night and again this morning. Saw a cyclist getting a ticket, told cop that maybe she should have a word with the taxi driver and motorcyclist sitting in the ASL at the lights with me... and she did. (fair cop, haha) I wouldn't mind them doing this if I thought they were monitoring all road users there, rather than just targeting cyclists.

  • Keyboard warrior !

  • Hey Tarquin, welcome back :-) We missed you.

  • Tarquin, dear chap, thank you for your witty banter.

yup, that's probably what pisses me off the most. like, cyclists are always in the wrong: drivers are right to stop in the green box or drive agressively, peds are right to cross without looking or in red light. i dont mind following the rules, but everyone else has to play the game too.

    or is it Tarquin Tool?

Another great addition to the august ranks of our noble forum.

  • Not just August, Bernie. Tarquin is a man for all seasons.

Humm a maverick thinker, torn between loyalty to his King, and to his religion.

This must be the basis of a ride; maybe between Hampton Court and the Tower of London. Mind you, we would have to find eight wives who were able to ride fixie skidders in wimples.....

  • HenryVIII had but six wives of his own. Thiomas More had but one.

For a Thomas More ride, I would suggest, Hampton Court (more Wolsey than More but still period) Chelsea where there is a statue to him outside his former home, Westminster, where he worked, the Inns of Court (probably Lincoln's) The Guildhall where he served as an undersheriff and the Tower where he died. A river ride. Perhaps also throw in Ely Place and St Etheldreda's Church where his mentor Morton, Henry VII's chancellor, was based until 1485 (although More only entered his service in 1490) and likely a chapel at which More worshipped on occasion. Bung in Thomas More Building in the Courts and More London near the Tower, both named for him. We could recite Utopia as we ride.

  • Done, when is his birthday, date of trial, or untimely end?

Maybe we can organise Joe Garcia to serve up glasses of mead at the end of the ride?

He wore a hair shirt under his fine clothes as a personal symbol of humility. Perhaps hairshirts under rapha?

City cops are supposed to be targeting all poor road use http://www.cityoflondon.police.uk/CityPolice/SaferCityWards/YourCityWard/clusters/north.htm#north as opposed to just cyclists, thanks to the City Cyclists going to community meetings http://www.lcc.org.uk/index.asp?PageID=536 Worth going to these as the people who tend to go and thus set targets are those with too much free time who think all cyclists are Al Qaeda or something.

To be fair I've seen them having words with motorists in the ASL. Am I wrong to think that the penalty for motorists is the same as crossing a red signal without good reason ie £60 and three points? If I'm right, that might seem pretty harsh to a lot of police, so they'd rather go for words of advice.

Re peds perhaps it makes sense to make more allowance for them at places like that junction, where there's bus stops and a tube station, so they're rushing for the train or whatever?

    cheers

Ahh, is that is why Dancing James can be a bit prickly?

  • 30th June: Grays Inn Road with Theobalds Road on the hipster highway.

There's two of them on the westbound side of Theobalds pulling anyone who so much as goes over a line.

  • Kill them all!

  • Kill them all!

    in the face?

    blah blah

  • I think 'Kill them all!' might be considered a little extreme by some of us...

  • hangs head and considers throwing £30 fine in the bin Now that really would be foolish
Nice to see you this morning though Velocio, next time lets make it sans police.
Be careful though though peeps they are not wearing high vis as usual - sneaky piggies

  • But it does show that red light jumping is but the thin edge of the wedge. One day a cyclist committs what he considers a minor traffic violation and what others may consider an antisocial activity; the next day he is advocating the murder of servants of the law. RLJ to cop-killer in one easy stage.
