  • Toshis are the bomb(proof)

Cadence make something called doublizers that you put two single straps through. Got some for my missus, they're sweet.

    Here you go...
Decent double straps for 1/100th the cost of Toshi's!!! (+1hour of my time & 2 scalpel blades).

They look a little home-made, but I don't mind. They feel good. They are thick soft leather, and hold firm.

I don't mind making these for people if they want.

  • Yep everyone is catered for...

Leather & Scalpel, or Cordura & Sewing machine.

  • @ miro_o

If your were to put these into production how much would you be looking for?

  • I made some from thick velcro bought from John Lewis and a bit of sewing last night, it took all of half an hour and cost me maybe £2, it's so easy, 'you try!' Just cut the velcro to the right size, sew up the edges then bung in the straps and that's it...

I can make you some, and then post them to you for say... six english pounds?

The materials I can get for next to nothing... but there is still a bit of awkward cutting involved so it's not a quick process. PM me with an address if you want some.

  • I've got a load of the mint coloured 'sprint' double which I'm going to put on the classifeds shortly. Watch this space.

  • Just to check the cash covers the all the straps and the leather brace or is it just the leather brace on its own?

  • The doubliser.

The white straps are MKS (about £15) and the tan straps are Christophe (about £10 i think).

  • They'll last about two weeks... Unlaminated = shit...

  • £1 fee

  • sorry to bump ye olde thread with what is probably a n00b question, but i'm interested in whether people think that double toe straps are worth the hipster tax that is slapped on them. I'm on single straps but the buggers keep loosening every time i so much as do a wee skip-stop. Now, this could mean that a) my particular straps are shite; b) my straps are not shite, but are broken; or c) single straps just don't hold very well.

(also I'm currently running 52/16 at the moment, which probably doesn't help :D )

So i'm wondering if double straps might be a genuine response to this problem or not...

    Any thoughts?

  • Laminated Exustar jobbies, £25... Well worth it...

  • or MKS Alpha doubles £40 on On-Ones Ebay store atmo

  • ^ Even better... I have a set of each so I know what I iz sayin'... They'll feel like tight and cosy sheepskin slippers compared to single straps... :]

  • thanks for the suggestions - so they are more secure than single straps then?

  • Yes, much more...

  • single straps shouldnot get undone either, you sure you didnot put them on wrong?

  • I got a set of Toshi single's that came with some pedals i bought a while back and they're good enough.
But, just picked up some of those MKS Alpha Doubles and definitely notice the difference, much better. Only problem is I have RX-1 pedals to try and lace them to atm and they're not ideal for doubles it seems.

  • ^ They're fine, I've managed that combo before... HTFU! ;]

  • Hah, yeah yeah. But there not ideal. what clips were you using?

Pics, or it never, ever happened that way!

    Here's how mine are atm

  • Started with the same as you're using there then moved onto some plastic double gated/caged jobbies... 'Til the pedals died... :[

  • Yep agreed, double cages will be the next move I reckon, but fine for now.
I hope your pedals lasted for a very long time before giving up? pricey little buggers, and mine are 2nd hand already.

  • buy Campagnolo :)
