  • Topps tiles?
    B and q?

  • Actually, when I typed in tiles, south lodon, places are far, then I typed in tiles, brixton, found a few places... oops... thanks!

  • Topps Tile and B&Q on the OKR. Can't think of anything closer.

    Gah! Refresh fail

  • tulse hill hotel tavern wotnot.

shit food, grumpy service, overpriced. only redeeming feature was the Cramps' Bad Music for Bad People being gently piped into the bar area.

    never again!

  • As a rebuttal to the habitually grumpy @greenhell, only ever had good times at the tulse hill hotel, yeah it's a bit bougie, but the beer garden is cool, especially when you get the booths right at the back, they currently serve my favourite cider on tap, cidre breton, and the sunday roast I had there a couple of weeks back was great..
Service has always been happy, helpful and without pretension...
Opinions are like assholes, everyone's got one..

  • I have three

  • @greenhell has four

  • Oh yeah, and food served on a scratchy bits of wood.

  • B&Q west norwood?

  • B&Q west norwood4lyf?

    ftfy

  • Still not been to new BC... doh

    #neverbeentobrixton

  • thanks, I found a place on Brixton Hill... gonna pop in later...

  • or pop in to the DIY thread people doing bath redos may have spares or old ones that came off the wall clean

  • thanks, but I had a look at the prices and they are not that expensive, so just gonna buy a few, only need about 4, so... should be under a tenner. I wish I had kept the extra ones from when my bathroom wa tiled... there was a whole pack the carpenter threw away... :-(

  • Went to the Tulse Hill Hotel for the first time after Lambeth Country Show on Sunday, thought the garden was bloody lovely and roast looked tasty. Now I'm wondering whether to bother trying its food.

    Mixed messages. Help.

  • The Tulse is just over the road so I've been a few times and the food has mostly been excellent, the staff are nice* Well worth a trip.
    *I am known to them.

  • @greenhell is mid-manopause, pinch of salt required...

  • you may need to go back through previous posts and make a decision based on that....
You'll probably find, taking the opposite position to @greenhell will make your life a whole lot less grumpy..

  • ^+^^ get fucked you patronising fucks.

  • See, as a peremptory young cove, I sort-of look up to his grumpiness. But I shall take the good reviews and test the place myself.

    /diplomacy

  • Don't go early into that grumpy dark night. Plenty of time for that when you're actually old!

  • I had a pint there once. Nice. I sat in the "beer garden" overlooking the stunning scenery of the Tulse Hill gyratory. Perhaps I should of tried the food as well.

  • have.

  • fwiw - mrs hell thought it was shitter than i did. and she's a fucking delight.
