I moved to Brixton in 1994, had visited for boozing purposes about 2 years prior to that. Never went to the Brixtonian in either of it's locations, and only to SW9 in about 99'
In the early days there wasn't any ponsey middle class white people bars as you know them now, just old man pubs and nightclubs best left alone. There wasn't really any midle class white people either, it was nice back then. The Atlantic/Dogstar was never anything other than a shithole, if you are honest with yourselves, and it was at it's worst when Winston (allegedly) worked there.

Cooltan was even worse. Winston allegedly used to party there.
There were middle class white people there in the late 80s, but they moved out temporarily when that well known scourge of the white, university-educated, middle-classes - Pistanator - moved over from Wantage...

20 years out. Winston, I suppose you'll be claiming to have started that will you? or that you did the canapés for all their "do's"

121 Railton Road, only place to party BITD... The Cooltan was full of crusties... Did... Not... Want...
TBH I was too scared to go into the Atlantic and I've only been in the Dogstar once... My mate made me go, it was lunchtime, it was the late 90s, it was full of cunts then as well, even at lunchtime... Integrity intact... What's left of it... -

The annual round of halff arsed consultation on funding.... however there's lots of local brixton projects:

I'm opting for 198 Gallery. Incidentally, Hustlebucks (set up inside 198 by their young clients) has a shop in Granville Arcade now.
[you can vote more than once by the way, not that I suggest you do]
do you mean re-open a closed and near derelict venue to provide employment and exciting artspace?....
