Random question. Anyone know what time the suitcase shop on Atlantic Rd (near Argos) is open until?

Having been working on coldharbour for a week or so, I think we can safely say that it's still shit, dunno what the fuss is about.

I get the impression being white and sort of middle class then I'd probably not be overly welcome. The Market used to be a complete shit hole so I think the protests are unfair at the people building quite good business. The property owners and developers along with the council are the ones to shoulder any blame.

It's funny that there was a party when Thatcher died. That proves that Brixton isn't suddenly gonna turn into Putney any time soon.
-
• #1868
Soon? No. It'll take 2-3 more years.

Spotted a guy dressed like my home-counties dwelling, golf, top gear and bants loving brother in law emerging from a flat on coldharbour lane this morning.

I actually thought it was him. It was all there, the hint of geezer swagger, the laquered WW1 haircut, the tortoiseshell Ray Bans and big silver watch, the tan Burberry mac over buttoned up pattern printed shirt with no tie, the leather man-bag and salmon chinos rolled up to reveal the shiny loafers...

I was at a wedding once where the groom fainted (he was a big guy and hit the deck like a pole-axed cow) and set off a mini-mexican wave of sympathy-fainting in the congregation. It was a lengthy greek Orthrodox ceremony in a hot and airless church carved into the superheated face of a cliff in Crete that had been in the blazing sun all day. It was still oven-like with no breeze at all after dusk and we'd all been out drinking raki till the small hours the previous and preceeding five nights. Four of five other people went down in his wake. I very nearly did too and had to go and sit down outside. I still get a bit weak-kneed thinking about it now. Best wedding ever. *swooons
