  • Joe, the Queen's Head has got a new owner... And Granville Arcade (please, no Brixton Village shite) has started late night Friday's now too. Everyone there looks like Maxcrowe.

And Brady's is reopening as a 'cultural' centre or something, rehearsal space, arts centre etc. - that's why Prince Charlie was there a few months back.

Oh and the Cultural Archives on Windrush Square got their HLF grant and cashola from Lambeth and Boris.

And the fridges have gone from the fridge. Boo.

  • Chris, could you ask Gwen if she would test the waters for the Regent to order a case of Bitburger Drive?

I promise to drink it all over approximately three weeks.

  • ^ Won't work... I've been trying to get them to serve Ricard (or better still, 51) for over two years...

    Nothin'... :/

Joe, the Queen's Head has got a new owner...

I know, we'll get one more DT there at the most... :[

  • Really? I thought it was just a change of ownership. Is it turning into something else.

    Two bits for today:

http://www.leonrestaurants.co.uk/restaurants/ is opening the arches between the train station and PE /Sainsbury's

Anyone up for fireworks at the squash club by the velodrome? £5 in, plus a bar / bonfire / food.

  • blimey! first a starbucks, now this!

/looks forward to seeing buggaboos parked up outside the wetherspoons for 9am first rounds.

  • Snowy, you are a gold mine. Any news on what else will be in the arches? I bet there will be a nerobucks.

  • On a similar note..... just putting word out ...........blah,blah.......... just saying like.

sad news that, sad sad news :-(

  • haha, I is community innit!

Um, new road traffic plan is being developed, campaign to implement 20mph in Poet's Corner (but not calling it <20mph for political reasons, it's going to be something 'traffic calming' related.

The Brixton Water Lane cycle contraflow is under consultation.

Dust is moving from the arches, cos of landlord problems, and I guess the fact that their other shop is bigger /newer and there's a limited market for child sized ukeleles ethically sourced from developing nations.

Oh and you need to get your name down for Effra under 3s provision (this isn't pub related).

Fireworks people! Fireworks! What are the plans? We have Papa Ellis down for the night too.

  • Fireworks people! Fireworks! What are the plans? We have Papa Ellis down for the night too.

  • gnashes teeth

  • I had a flash-back when I was in the Reegent for lunch on Sunday...

  • ^ That's pretty much what I remember... Most of my NYE and NYD was spent in there last year... :S

  • NYD didn't happen this year, the first day I saw was Jan 2nd

  • Fireworks people! Fireworks! What are the plans? We have Papa Ellis down for the night too.

A friend of mine suggested getting up to Dawson's heights and seeing ALL the fireworks. Sounds like a good 'un.

  • Chris, what is this Effra under 3's you speak of?

The under 5s school on Effra Parade...

EDIT - do any of you lot want x2 tickets to see Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings tonight at the Roundhouse - We were going to go with SpagettiHoops and Will, but ze Go Ellis is poorly and can no longer make it.

    No, don't be silly.

Helen is moving to Dubai end of Jan. She gave her notice at work on Monday. By then and at this rate, Jack might need the spare room for a garage.
