  • Thanks - that's really helpful.

  • There's also that art studio space at the corner of Shakespeare Rd and Coldharbour lane by Lough Jct station which may have something.

  • Or Island Studios on Milkwood Road? Has a front area / bar and then an arch.

  • Rent the jamm...

Whirled Art/Cinema, just round the corner from there, rent out their venue and will man the bar if desired. But I think it's £150 for one evening for members and more for anybody else.

  • Bruce, how you healing up?

  • Not so bad. Back on the bike full time, even running in this heat. Main problem these days is the damage to my vocal cords caused by the intubation. Have a referral to Ear/Nose/Throat specialists coming up, so am hoping to get my voice back at some point.

  • Has this thread done the Ritzy staff strike?

  • Great suggestions - thanks everyone!

    Rent the jamm...

Nor sure if I have enough friends ....

  • Does anyone have a recommendation for handyman in the West Norwood area? Our garage door needs looked at.

Anyone? Or a garage door maintenance company - there are loads online and I feel it would be better to have a recommendation.

  • try the east dulwich forum. don't tell anyone you're from WN4L tho, they'll have their man release the hounds.

  • my niece and her beardy fella are moving to LFL from san fran next month and are looking to rent a place in brixton and surrounds because they are just the sort of achingly hip young dilettantes that get right up the noses of the U75 crowd. Their budget, so they tell me, is a respectable 1400 notes a month, max. do-able?

any pro-tips that don't involve fuxtons? anyone seen any gaffes up for grabs in they endz?

  • Tell 'em we're full... I'd actually try U75 or the Herne Hill forum...

I'll ask my old landlord if he's got anything in that price range...

  • What do you care, you're fucking off soon. Actually, can we have your flat? U75 might be hard - HH forum sounds like a good call.

  • As soon as we've gone our landlord's gonna fix the basement then let the place to yuppies for £2k per month... Cuz Brixton is dead...

  • heh. TS leaves. Brixton dies.

  • TS, Hoops in older more wrinkled disguise...

  • I love Brixton...

  • Some of my bost fronds are from broxton

  • Upstairs in teh Ritzy right now for beers on balcony and an open mic in a bit btw.

  • open mic's always turn into blues jams... and no one wants that. no one.

  • This was one of the better ones I've been to. High quality, packed house and no blues.

  • Shouldn't you be boycotting the Ritzy?

    /citizensmith

Was trying to gauge opinion on that upthread. I think not but would like to hear oter residents think.

  • I've been boycotting the Ritzy for a long time, it's very expensive... It's quite reasonable value if I go down with Mrs TS and take my niece and nephew but otherwise >>>>>>>>>>>>

I know a few ex-RItzy staff, totally behind them...
