  • not as sophisticated.
I'm contemplating using the "tynan" style of deterrent .........
Thinking of using my insurance cash on a Pearson;any critique?????

  • If you like your old bike, then buy the same one, that's my advice really.

  • guess so;had a good ride into work tonight on my Bianchi 9spd but felt like a fraud free-wheeling around those cars and puddles.

  • moral: keep your bike in you room, never ride it... just post pictures of it on bike forums

Even if you leave it in your room, can I still come around and shit on the handle bars and saddle ?

Works every time, just remember to have a decent meal before you go out.

no, but you can shit on my girlfriend's back if you want

  • no, but you can shit on my girlfriend's back if you want

I thought I'd pretty much covered that ?

  • Post in stolen bikes thread? Condor Pista on gumtree? Might be worth 'seeing' the bike..!?

  • it was more to do with how I lock the bike than the area, I was just surprised it's still there, a small price to pay for choosing the right lock and locking it right.

    FAH and mini evo comboFTW!

great shop, helpful staff, but it's in Sutton. Ugh.

Love my touche - but a) the chain is made from cream-cheese & b) not very impressed with the saddle (but arses for courses - might work for you).

  • is that your bike?

no but thanks for taking time out to look for it .This is green(mine was grey but could be classified as green).Antonio selling the bike might be colour blind;I'll forward this to the police nevertheless.

after reading Antonio's poor sales description again................that's my bike for sure; any ideas about approach or just hand it all to my friendly police person first thing on my way home from work??Thanks edscoble many beers for you if it is.

  • call them up, ask them for a meeting, then bring like, 5 of your mates for security if they turn out to be dodgy, if it your bike, try and get it back without paying for it (providing you bring photo of your bike and such going "hey that my bike") keep presisting them and try and get it back, NEVER pay them, even if you're paying only £50 to get your bike back is a small price to pay, you're still paying criminal to steal more bike to sell it.

notice the telephone number is a mobile phone - theft tend to use them when selling illegal good, another evidence that it could be stolen.

    police won't do anything.

ask your mate to stand back and not be obvious, so you can see if this bike is in fact your, or not, if it not, you can walk away.

Spoke to some geezer who knew nothin technical about the bike;admitted it was a grey/ green colour;couldn't tell me how long he had it etc,. immaculate condition(my fucking bike)called police they couldn't give a shit.
Through lack of heavy weight friends and location of seller I bottled out(council block in Old St.)
My life experience of this why am paying fucking taxes for police who are not attacking crime at gound roots level(I don't consider my £800 Pista groound roots by the way).
Letter going to my local mp and I just resigned my job to become an untouchable bike thief;I look forward to dealing with you.Orders welcome and I'll give cash discount but not if you are a fucking police officer.
Thanks for all the support and feedback you gave me in this thread;you are a cool bunch of guys;hope some learning experience has been gained at my expense.
My 2 week single speed experience was a pleasure I hope to be there again.
    Rgds Harris.

  • I live in a council block in Old St. Doesn't mean anything. Why give up so easily? You could probably get a bunch of the forum (not form) time-wasters to meet up with you. Loads of them pretend to work around here, and seem to have a bit of a thing for vigilante tactics.

Whoever's got your bike is probably emaciated and drug-addled, and if they have a big dog, just grab its front legs and splay them apart to crack the dog's sternum. They'll probably want to meet in a public place anyway.

  • or as Richard Ballantyne would suggest: Any small dog can simply be lifted up by the hind legs and his brains dashed out

  • Maybe Antonio is a small talking dog.

  • didn't mean to label council tenants;I have the precise address of the vendor;I really don't want to get into some issue especially when the bike will be sold very quickly.I gave all the info to the Police they refused out right to come along and if I had visited my friend and matched the frame number there was a high probablity(quote police)they could not get a warrant and get into the guy's flat.So my arguement is the Police are a fucking waste of time and I didn't want to get into any form of violence all I wanted was to ride a bike of my choice and chain it up where I wanted.Clearly my rights have been denied;what is the fucking point of being a law abiding citizen..........

  • I didn't think there was any labelling going on, don't worry about that. Although I have a Condor alu Pista here (it's kind of grey with grime).

But I'm not entirely convinced that violence is inevitable. Maybe some harsh words... from the dog.

Antonio has offered his number here;could make a good Xmas present for a loved one;I rode 100 miles on it. Be my guest.

  • Make a new topic asking people to help by coming with you to check the bike out (for muscle power), that's all you need to do mate.

violence is never an answer, a well thought-out plan with little violence usually work brilliantly.

  • unbelievable

  • No need somebody has offered to deal with Antonio as a favour.
