• If you get a pair order 1/2 to 1 euro size above your normal size. The fit is tight. Even with doing this when i first got them I nearly sent them back as my toes were still squeezed a bit, but given they have a leather upper it does give & stretch and now they fit great.

same for Adidas Cyclone. is this standard for all SPDs?

  • I'm not sure what you define casual as, casual as being able to walk around like normal shoes or casual as in not only the latter but also in appearance?

    netherless I was looking at some shoes to use with clipless, I notice the Bontrager Race Mountain shoes which look pretty decent;

I didn't go for it because I really do not have any idea if it a decent buy or not, and there is no list for shoes, only clipless pedals.

  • Sidi.

  • Oh come on, I'm looking for an answer about those shoes as I have the option of being able to buy a new one for £40, and all you can said is Sidi.

  • They look shit. Sidis look good.

    Hope that helps. :-)

  • Sidi.

  • Had a card included in a recent order from Chrome announcing a new shoe line this coming autumn. A quick google threw up this:

    http://superbbicycle.com/?p=558

Will anyone be stocking them over here? If the quality level is similar to that of the bags, these should be pretty good shoes. Probably won't be too cheap though.

  • They'll probably be wonderful to ride in, but it's a pity they are just Chuck Taylors made for riding. I say that because I don't like Chuck Taylors. They make people look like ridiculous clowns from the 90's.

  • I too find lifes decisions hard without a list.

I a dreading deciding what I want for dinner. There is no GAG list for dinners!

  • I have two pairs of 'touring' spds shoes, but I'm starting to get a bit fed up with the time it takes to put the laces and velcro on (probably less than a minute but still longer than velcro or fancy clasps)

  • They all look like trainers, so, no.

  • I'm a sucker for Chrome so will probably buy this as well.

  • i want some reinforced chuckers. that would be perfectimo!

    t

my old DIY plimsoles last summer

    :D

  • Shame about the crummy colours (apart from black, obvs)

  • Such disapointment!

I thought Chrome shoes sounded awesome- blinger than bling.

  • please say they have cleat recesses!

  • Tilover, your cleats must have gotten facckked so quickly.

  • They have a few different styles - chukka boots for instance. Don't think they have recesses.

  • They are about as original as eggs at Easter.

  • They are about as original as eggs at Easter.

not really so. they have some neat features, if you read the link... but not necessary for me and i also don't think riding a bike needs to be this complicated.

  • I'm sorry, I take it back, they have all of the following shit:

"1000d cordura, a propulsion plate, polyurethane slam pad, vents, reflective heal patch, vulcanized construction, lace garage, and flat lace cordura with steel aglet"

    but don't forget that they're:

"available in 4 different styles, and 4 different colors, however not every style is available in every color."

Actually i quite like them. A steal at only £400 a pair as well.

  • Carbon soles?

  • i didn't walk much!
the major problem was the insanely flexy sole

    ;)

    • a big ol skid stop ripped the sole into bits. it was never meant to be a proper practical solution, just a bit of a laugh
  • If they were going to ape an existing design for a cycling shoe, could they please do a Bont A1 copy at like 1/4th of the price please? That'd be much, much better.

I don't ride clipless, specifically because I want to ride in shoes I want to wear. If I was going to get a specific cycling shoe, I'd get some Sidi's and a have done with it.
