Nice! May finally get some casual shoes.
DZR do some pretty nice looking slip on style ones (Not as nice as the new Kursks though). Admittedly, the velcro shindig looks a bit weak. http://www.alwaysriding.co.uk/dzr-jetlag-nero-shoe-1564.html

I've got the brown version of that shoe and I've been using it for a couple of months now. No problems so far with the Velcro.

Quocs - so close but so far. They just look like golf shoes. bleh.

The William Lennon shit on my Quoc despite the latter being very comfortable.
I have to says there's a big difference between the newer version and the original, I've managed to break in my original and was very comfortable whether trying the new one met with stiff and uncomfortable (due to it's being new rather), the soles is much better with a gripper surface than the original;

Snapped the SPD mounting plate on my DZR Mambas this morning. :(
I've been using them constantly since last October, so it ain't too bad. They also still feel ok to use, just a bit flexy with pressure on the pedal. No unclipping dramas.

:( 9 months? That's not great. Is that plastic? It doesn't look very thick :/
There seem to be a lot of DZR fails in this thread (see page 12).
Theo said the other night he's been using his Kursk's for two years, I'm sure hoping my newly purchased Kursk's last at least that long.

I just went back to page 12 as you suggested, and the first post is about a pair of Chromes failing!

Yeah. 9 months doesn't seem long, but it's better than the previous DZR fail tales on this thread.
The bit that snapped is a plastic plate. There are more layers of metal and plastic underneath, but the rigidity of the sole is gone. Not great, but not destroyed. I'm looking at new shoe options now. I wouldn't say no to another pair of these, but I'm also looking at Kursks and Midway Pros as options.
Not sure on the Chrome size charts though, there is conflicting info.

bought some dzr dice in tan in june for my birthday and compared to the dzr districts i had before they are worlds apart. much more happy with them.
wish the velcro was 2cm longer so it was easier to fully engage but other than that cannot fault them at all so far, guess just need to worry about the durability.

Doesn't say how long though. If you read the thread there are lots of premature DZR fails, people raising the quality issue with them but nothing seems to have changed. Any shoe will fail eventually, given enough use.

It seems odd they've gone for separate layers, the norm is one solid plate which seems less likely to snap to me...

Never had a problem with DZRs, but have snapped two pairs of Kursks, the second pair (the warrantied one) lasted about 3 months. Good customer service though.

When are the giro shoes at the top of this page coming out?

Following the edges of my DZR falling apart back in Jan, the mounting plate snap just like this in Feb, so a total of 5 months before my DZR rendered useless. If you buy the from always riding, ask them for a replacement. If you bought them somewhere else and if the dealer is unable to get you a replacement pair for whatever reasons then get straight onto DZR in the US, they will either send you a pair from them directly or in my case, they got always riding to send me a pair and I didn't even buy from them... I never showed them any receipt or anything, they just did it based on trust. Or maybe they know their shoes don't last mode than 12 months so no receipt is needed...

Thanks. I just emailed DZR directly. I got mine from Urban Cyclery, so I should have the email receipt somewhere. They don't stock DZR anymore though.

Thanks Hoefla, I may take you up on that offer. Just going to wait to see if they reply to the email I sent first.

I am pretty sure I told someone here, call them, as they are slow with email.
And if memories serves, Always Riding will have them sometimes in June!
