want want want
will try and hold out until spring though, apparently there's six months of shitting down rain and freezing tempuratures coming.
winter :(I can totally recomend them. I was careful not to order too big a size. Then when I recieved them my longest toe touched the end of the shoe. Felt like it might be alright on the bike so I moulded them anyway. Ended up moulding them 4 times, but now they are fantastic. So light, so stiff, and so comfortable. I have some Prendas TT overshoes on them to protect them and make me look less like alice in wonderland.

look less like alice in wonderland.
ha. true they're pretty bright.
cheers for the info. for sure on my spring shopping list. want to see if the back of the bathtub carbon sole lasts a bit longer than the plastic heelcup on flat carbon sole construction i'm used to. the heelcups seem to break down pretty fast on most shoes and i don't walk much in my riding shoes at all. if the bathtub construction means they last a bit longer then the price is justified again in addition to paying for weight, stffness, fit etc.got months in northwave winter boots to look forward to first though. shit.

I used the graph on the Velodromeshop site to measure my foot length and see what size I needed. And I agree, amazing comfy, light and stiff. Mine feel horrible when off the bike, but while cycling are perfect.

Thats the thing. I had them on thinking. These need to go back. They're nasty. Then on the bike they were amazing.

First positive thing I've read about these. The non spd ones are a bit shite (really soft sole) so wasn't going to bother with the spd ones.
Really? I found quite a lot of positive reviews online before i bought mine. I can't speak for the non spd ones, but the soles are great on mine, really stiff, as good as my carbon soled shimano's. I used to wear mine to work so I wouldn't have to bring a change of shoes, they were great apart from walking up and down stair is a bit weird with rigid soles.
Those prolly ones are damn nice looking I have to say.

i did 30 miles in mine the other day, and was didn't give my shoes a thought, i can't think of a better complement really.
i don't think i ever give my shoes a thought on any ride so don't think that's a positive thing
when i finally splashed out on some carbon/ti ones a few years back all i could think about how amazing my feet felt and how fast i was going up hills - good shoes should feel good and not just blend in (i reckon anyway)

I made a pair of generic high tops into spd shoes recently. Unfortunately they are too small but seeing as I did a half decent job on them and they are really nice to ride in does anyone want them?
Size uk10 (ish, I'm an 11 and can uncomfortably squeeze in)
Would like to cover costs so £20? If no takers I'll rip out he soles and start again. -

are they dunks?
-
• #390
No, they are hummel's - no idea about this brand, they were cheap and new, didn't fancy cutting up something decent.

I don't suppose anyone has a pair? I was considering getting a pair but would like to know people's opinions on these shoes. The current shoes I am wearing hurt my feet a lot when I'm riding haha
Many thanks.

I have a pair and I freaking LOVE them.

I think Corny has a pair. IIRC he gets on fine with them.

Homingmissile have a read of this thread it has lots of feedback on dzr's and other alternatives such as the chrome Kursk
https://www.lfgss.com/thread7690.html
In short they are great, look better than the alternatives and you should buy some...

I've had a pair of DZR's since January. They've ridden in sun, rain and snow, ridden on track and street, ridden 5 miles and up to 130 miles. They're great. Next time I'm in the US I'm buying a second pair.
i.e. What Corny says.

My DZR Prollys have just turned up from the States. I have to say these are probably the best casual spds I've seen, they're awesome.
Pictures #345
The finishing could be tidier but on the whole they are really well made, the sole is solid and even though they're about 1.5 sizes too big, I'm still gunna wear them.I just need to work out removing the sole cut out and putting in the plastic plate. Any tips?

wicksie use a stanley knife it's easy enough, just a bit fiddly
-
• #399
Cool, cheers Corns.
I was just a bit confused about the plate too, like isn't it optional? Don't remember putting them on my sidis.
I'm sure it'll all become apparent when I go to do it. -

DZR Prolly are not on the site anymore!
Wicksie did you order from alwaysriding in the end? Or did you get them from somewhere else?
First positive thing I've read about these. The non spd ones are a bit shite (really soft sole) so wasn't going to bother with the spd ones.
Wonder how much import tax on the Prolly ones. They're only about £10 more but the tax could ruin it.

Be nice to see the underside so you can see how much the cleat would protrude.
EDIT, scratch that, they don't deliver outside the US. Meh.
EDIT EDIT, I've asked alwaysriding.co.uk if they're going to get any in as the UK stockist of DZR.
