I'm heading to NY in just over a week, does anyone know if there is a shop I can go in and buy Swrve stuff from? The US site lists Trackstar as a dealer but their online catalogue isn't loading to see if they actually have anything. When I was buying my shorts I went to BLB as they are listed as a UK dealer in an attempt to try some on and I was stared at with a blank look when I tried to talk to someone in there about them. I was just thinking since I'm going to USA it might work out cheaper to buy stuff from there.

Cavendish Cycles and Brixton Cycles off the top of my head have Swrve stuff too, as far as I remember.

Love the 3/4's too. Does anyone know definitively what the Milwaukee Softshell fabric face is? Is it Gore Windshell?

anyone got the WWR shorts?
-

Yeah I've got WWR Short shorts. Really good.

do they actually come up one size bigger?
and whats the water resistance like?
also would they be cold in the winter?
i have the cotton ones, but they need replacing, and was thinking of getting these -

I think they come up a size bigger. I have 36 in the cotton and herringbones and 36 in the WWRs and they are much larger. I wish I had gotten a 34. The water resistance has so far been good. I haven't spent a long time in a torrential downpour yet, but in the rains that we've had and running around for 30 minutes, I haven't gotten wet through them.
The fleece lining is nice. I think they will stay nice and toasty with a pair of good wool socks. I really like them a lot and would definitely recommend them.

I have 30s and they fit me like 32 jeans so yes, they come up one size bigger.
Water resistance is top notch, I wore mine in horrible Liverpool rainy weather earlier on this year when I was still at uni and they were very good. Only thing is, they're not as tight as lycra (obviously) so if you have no mudguards, chances are you'll get a tiny bit of spray inside the legs.
They keep me dry and they're quite resistant to flapping so they keep your thighs warm. The coldest I've worn mine in is about 0 and no problems there. That's without any lycra underneath. Add lycra and you're good for freezing temperatures. Also, they stay fresh really well. Mine barely look worn for the amount of use I've got out of them!

I bought a pair of the Swrve cycling trousers last week and wore them for the first time yesterday. They are very comfy with a good fit and just a little bit of give in them. They are fine to ride in but smart enough for the office too. They have all the usual Swrve features, such as double belt loops above your arse (to stop the builders bum look), articulated knees and a strip of reflective material on the inside of the legs that shows when you roll the legs up to ride.
I'd definitely recommend them.

Does anyone know if you have to re-waterproof Swrve Milwaukee Hoodies? I've got a goretex one and when I first got it rain used to bead and run off, since I washed it in the washing machine it just makes the outside kind of moist whole staying dry on the inside. I liked it when the rain beaded and ran off.

^hrrmm.. that's it, i am never washing mine.. i like watching the little pools of beaded water run off the sleeves :)
-
• #115
I used to spend 2 hours polishing and waxing my classic car just so I could sit and watch the water bead in the rain....

I'm going to do this on my softshell one as mine does the same, I've got some spray for re-waterproofing goretex and the like. I'll let you know how it goes

Wash them in soap flakes, then dry in tumble dryer on a very low heat. They will need to be reproofed every 2/3 washes.

I may be wrong but I think using fabric softener will especially ruin the waterproof finish.
-
• #119
Not wrong.
-
• #120
Yeah fabric softener/conditioner is not recommended for DWR finishes. As above, was with Tech Wash (or soap flakes at a fraction of the cost) and re-proof with Nik Wax TX Direct spray.
-
• #121
I'm going to wash mine with the nikwax softshell proof - as my waterproofness is definitely waned

i've managed to put a rip into the arm of my old school swrve milwaukee soft shell, what would be the best course of action to get it repaired? Speak to chris at Mozz? take to local dry cleaners/repairers.
Its been okay so far, but don't want the rip to become bigger and bigger.Clefty, you got Chris' contact number, may have to give him a ring.

About half way down the page - Seam Grip.
Should do the trick. Failing that patch it on the inside with your puncture repair kit.

the new tokyo fixed gear store in soho has some of the trousers + jeans in. i really like the jeans but they have an unappealing cinch either side of both knees so makes them look a little bit weird - like maternity jeans or something.

^^^^^I have 2 pairs of these jeans and everytime I wear them someone stops and asks me when the baby is due.
I've got a pair of their knickers* and I love them. Absolutely comfortable to ride in and well designed. On their website they have a good deal on skinny fit jeans but due to my training routine of many pints that is an overly optimistic fit. Still a good deal for those who don't wish to leave anything to the imagination.
