Nope. But I'll make it my first priority, right after some nose-picking and navel-gazing.
1, navel-gazing
2, nose-picking
3, scratch my arse
4, touch my balls
5, what shin said;)

It's Friday afternoon - I imagine a lot of people are killing time at work before going to the pub. I know I am.
We're playing with you a bit - don't take it personally.

Brucy, ask. Whatever answers you get will be of mixed value. Some will give you directions to the moon, via the North Circular, and some will actually answer your questions. Once you realise that people on here are here more for fun, than serious stuff, you'll understand.
C'mon, now give me a Brucy-bonus. Taa-daa!

Take it for a test ride and see if you like it.
Way to be friendly everyone.
-
• #33

So, your criteria, as I see it so far, is:
To be the product of newer technologies.
Not be steel.
Good looking.
Something light and fast.
Price in region of £799.99 :))Does that cover it, or what else?
-
• #35
go all out dude, its friday try a few.
-
• #36
Is it really £799? Fairly decent frame but the components are all Bontrager? Do me a favour....
Save your money and do your own build
-
• #37
Man, not being snobby but even if the frame is good I rekon you'll find yourself replacing components with any off-the-peg bike.
Be patient, bit more snooping around and you'll get a really nice set up with that budget. -
• #38
If it was £500 I'd say fury muff but £800 is a lot of money for a bike with shit components. You're paying £200/300 for the Trek name/brand
DEFO save your money, do a bit of research and build your own, trust me, it's the future :-) -
• #39
Evans in the Cut has a Fuji Track Pro for the same price, though it can be found on line for bout 699
Someone on here has a T1 with Arrospoks on both ends don they?
-
• #40
yeah i used to ride a lotus and took on the hour record.
everything is overrated, including the word 'overrated' and 'technological advances', not to mention 'carbon' and 'itm' and 'ergo bars'.
trek t1 aluminium yeah blah blah whatever...
and i used to ride a frame that i made from a washinig machine and bmx frames, i would have beat you if the UCI would have realised that i was the best and not got pissed the a flying washing machine is far superior due to the rider.
-
• #41
I feel you probably have done some research already, and you've decided that you like the T1, and just were looking to see if people agreed. Well try the Willier Pista as well, as they're the same price, and have the same colour scheme. But Pistanator and the others are right. If you select a frame, then kit it as you wish, you'll get more of what you want, for the same price. If you can't wait, then buy what you like. You'll still be upgrading it anyway. I think its good looking. But for the price, the Willier and the Condor looks more persuasive.
-
• #42
the condor to me is an idol, you ride it when you can hit 35 and stay at 35.
haha. -
• #43
not to say i cant, btw.
-
• #44
Have you seen vinylvillian's little bitch in the other thread (the condor has landed). The minx could have her own red-light district!
-
• #45
i think from now on i wont ask any questions.
we had a laugh about the evans bit, then you got lots of advice that was constructive, i suggested something about 'refinement' as in maybe wait, get, or build, not mentioning frame material at all, to which you then left some pithy comment about steel frames, ergospaz and IPA.
ask questions if you like, you'll get more of the same: a characteristic mix of forum humour and bona fide responses.

that's the spirit!

Just my opinion but Trek and Specialised all seem overpriced and in general aimed at 'the don't knows' of the world.
-
• #48
That 54cm Felt TK2 with the Sugino 75 chainset on it is still hanging round on Wiggle for £670
-
• #49
+1 to 50/14
+1 to adoubletap, even though I don't like OTPs in general (there are aesthetic and structural reasons for this).let me take it down a notch:
Trek T1 = not enough spokes
-
• #50
Agreed. The Felt, a Fuji Pro or a Cinelli Vigorelli with well chosen parts, would be my choice.
Nope. But I'll make it my first priority, right after some nose-picking and navel-gazing.
