0800 Light dusting of snow but roads are clear, so good for riding.
0830 meet at rendezvous - starting to snow
0920 30kms out into the countryside, snow falling but beautiful scenery and roads still fine.
0930 snow gets a bit stronger so we take pics and head back.
1045 by the time we are home 7inches of snow has fallen... slippery slippery fun! (my riding partner had a couple of small spills but nothing serious).
1100 riding partner snowed in at my place with no way home
1130 Fried breakfast by the fire
1300 Another 3 or 4 inches of snow so we run to riding partners house, I drop him off and run home.

The dick in his range rover trying to get up a hill near me, spinning all four wheels in the snow, and going nowhere. Yes it's a 4x4, but race-style low profile tyres on massive alloys are not going to be useful.

Immaculately shiny Range Rovers with road tyres and those funny bar things along the bottom that take away all the ground clearance always make me want to laugh. It's a farmer's car for fuck's sake, it's supposed to be covered in mud and full of straw bales!
When they are done properly, with decent tyres on, they are great fun offroad, but every so often you still need a winch on the front to pull yourself out, or a second vehicle and a long towing strap.

Any Range Rovers after this model are Chelsea tractors imo. Classic ftw.

The brand new armoured ones that the royal protection squad use are pretty nice though.

Wouldn't mind a defender with decent tyres and a winch. The self-loathing might be a bit intense. I will probably settle for some winter tyres for my bikes...
