  • Oh yeah, the jammed shite access hatches are pretty dope!

  • Also, it runs standard gague hose fittings, which means the assortment of vintage crap under the stairs fits, giving me nozzle flexibility, as well a rotational suction device inter-operability.

Bit like SPDs on all your bikes really.

  • That sentence is clearly lifted straight from the Dyson website....!!

  • Oh do fuck off! >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

  • Dyson's airblades are not as efficient or as hygienic as those paper towels are.
so thats a win 2ce over.

  • all kind of air hand dryers are shit. FACT.

  • Handy air powered shit dryers are great though.

  • Dyson's airblades are not as efficient or as hygienic as those paper towels are.
so thats a win 2ce over.

I was bowled over when I first encountered the airblade. Had to call up a mate to tell him what Id just seen. Turns out he had used one before though. But still, a BLADE OF AIR! Its fucking cool

  • TÜV Produkt und Umwelt study:
    Drying method..........................Effect on Bacterial Count
Paper towels and roll..................Decrease of 24%
    Hot-air drier............................Increase of 117%

    University of Westminster study:
after washing and drying hands with the warm air dryer, the total number of bacteria was found to increase on average on the finger pads by 194% and on the palms by 254%
drying with the jet air dryer resulted in an increase on average of the total number of bacteria on the finger pads by 42% and on the palms by 15%
after washing and drying hands with a paper towel, the total number of bacteria was reduced on average on the finger pads by up to 76% and on the palms by up to 77%

hence why hospitals use paper towels

both are relatively small samples though so I'd expect the error bars to be decent

As much as I don't much like Dyson, the airblade doesn't use warm air so that argument is pretty irrelevant.

  • the dyson is a jet air dryer.
    [ame]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dyson_Airblade[/ame]

mentioned right in that paragraph with a increase of bacteria of 42% or 15% dependent on location on hand.
then again acc. that article- states that the above study is carried out with support of hte paper towel industry.

Just saying- potentially at the end of this year i may have an exam in correct clinical hand washing, and nhs hospitals will always use paper towels as they are significantly more hygienic.

  • Rock

    scissors

    paper

  • Yeah. Paper towel is best but Airblade is better than a normal dryer. Do you think the fact that a lot of normal dryers are now cold and not hot (i always just assumed they were broken) is related to these stastics? There's no normal/cold group so this is more speculation than anything else.

  • did you have the pointless osce rusty?

  • idk what that is?

  • kinda Dyson jelly cake... on the subject of food, this is typically Dyson.

now I didn't think of that, definite winner.

  • I was bowled over when I first encountered the airblade.

I think they had the fan up a bit high?

  • Im 4ft1 on a good day

  • Me...
*midweek I organised a training ride for early sat morning.
*Friday lunchtime I remember that the indexing on my training bike is waaay out. I've no time to fiddle with it myself so I rush it to the lbs who promise to sort it... Great stuff!
*Friday evening get home from quiet pint and check bike over... Indexing still fucked.
*2300 spend hours trying and failing to fix indexing.
*0115 eventual success... reassemble bike and have quick test ride on turbo
*0130 shift from small chainring to large... CLUNK... Chain snaps and gets wedged in derailleur.
*FUCKSHITARSE... Chaintool is at my parent's.
*0145 move mudguards/bottle cages/SPD pedals etc to fixed gear beater... Pump tyres ready to ride tomorrow.
    *0215 bitch on Lfgss

I love tinkering with my bikes (the main reason instarted reading this forum) but I'm evidently not a born mechanic. Normally i figure its good to learn from my mistakes but tomorrow the only thing i'm going to learn is how painfull 100km of corswold hills are with only 1 gear.

    Balls.
