It's PC gone mad, I tell you, what they need is a short, sharp, shock - bring back national service, I was beaten daily as a child, it never did me any harm, they snout line it to'em though eh, eh, EH?

• #23428
That is an expensive fail.

It is odd that fighting for social justice can be seen as a negative.

Imagine being so mean spirited and selfish that you think it's somehow an insult?
Imagine being so horrendously self centred that you can't possibly comprehend the idea of creating a fairer society for everyone or being so insecure and shit that you think you can only do well when other people are artificially prevented from competing.
I find that if anyone uses SJW or its sibling 'virtue signalling' it tells an awful lot about what kind of person they must be and, quite frankly, it's nothing to aspire to.

Grrr these people helping others...makes my blood boil! Saddos! That's the trouble with today's generation, too much time on their hands. They should be down the pit. Things aren't the same since computers killed Diana Maggie/Jesus would lick them into shape Katie Hopscotch has it right welfare scum scratched my beamer stealing our jobs ooh ooh...I've shat

• #23432
Isn't saying someone is 'virtue signalling' itself a form of virtue signalling?
-
• #23433
anyone that says it is definitely "cunt signalling".
-
• #23434
Yeah. It originated on Breitbart so it's a good indicator....
-
• #23435
i thought it was the spectator?
-
• #23436
Dunno if people are being wilfully ignorant but it's used as pejorative because there are thousands upon thousands of insufferable cunts who self identify as social justice activists and who do in fact, nothing but virtue signal. The same as misandrists who reckon they are feminists and sully the whole movement by association. Often they are the loudest section of said movements and are often people's first contact which then puts them off and causes them to write off thw whole thing, very shallow and blinkered thinking but not entirely unfounded
-
• #23437
no it's pretty much a turn of phrase used exclusively by the sorts of cunts that crack off to ayn rand and think obama is a secret muslim.
-
• #23438
It's mostly used as a mechanism to shut down people saying something you don't like by applying restrictions on there opinions. Also see 'check your privileges'
-
• #23439
I checked my privilege recently.
I'm happy to report that it's excellent.
-
• #23440
I don't actually understand what "check your privileges" means.

It's just recognising that you get treated differently or have better opportunities than other people and it's largely down to luck.
For example, a rich white, straight male, like Donald Trump is still convinced he got to where he is through the virtue of his own hard work and nothing else and seems to think that a black woman from the Bronx born into poverty and with health problems could easily achieve similar if only they worked a bit harder....
This cartoon is pretty good at explaining it actually, if you can get over the fact the babies look old enough to have mortgage worries:

Yeah, like, if my first contact with you was reading some bullshit you got out of the 'big book of right-wing opinions' that you posted on a forum, I might think you're a cunt. I suppose. Course, when you move out of your parents house I'm sure your opinions will change.

Yep

Ha 1st time I've ever been accused of right wing thinking on the internet, cheers. Your smugness, assumptive nature and projection is exactly what I hate about current leftists and is imo directly attributable for the rise of current alt right horseshit that we currently find ourselves subjected too

'Check your privilege' is another completely pertinent point that got hijacked by pricks, as has been said often as a method of shutting down discourse or invalidating an opinion
